I figure we will be able to buy as much coastline as we want here pretty soon. Adding a few more military bases in the area wouldn't hurt either.

My mom was in Greece a few weeks ago. She said that place was a dump.

I'm pretty sure she wasn't on Santorini.

Yeah, Santorini is not a dump. It's one of the prettiest islands on the planet. Of course it's also one ginormous active volcano, but hey.

And my sister and her family lived on the Greece mainland for about 4 years. They hated it.

Greece voted to default on its IMF bailout.

Problem is Russia might decide to bail them out this time.

Putin is expanding the old soviet union.

Too many Eastern bloc Europeans and Muslims for our governments taste IMO. You ever been around huge groups of Albanians and Serbs?

No thanks

Greece is proof that economic socialism is disastrous. It's difficult to predict what will happen to that country now. Europe certainly no longer wants them.

No economy, Socialist or Capitalist will survive the type of environment we've built on a global scale. We have too few tangible assets in the world now -- trading debt (money that doesn't exactly exist) has shown to just...not work.

Considering we're about 127 Trillion in debt, I doubt we'll be looking to purchase any.

BTW -- this is all connected, Greece is just one of the first dominoes.

Who falls next?

I would imagine Spain isn't incredibly far behind. I could be mistaken, but I thought I came across some information stating that something like 3 out of every 5 Spaniards under the age of 25 are unemployed.

That shocked me

Yeah, it's too bad this is the way we'll have to undergo economic contractions. We may enter a cycle of contractions that will pound all but the most productive states.

The only real solution is population reduction on a global scale but hardly anyone is interested in that route. Oh well, we'll just have to sit back, watch and hope the fan doesn't blow in our direction when the shite hits it. Beginning tomorrow.

When the Chinese equity bubble bursts the dominoes will start to fall. In the EU, Portugal is probably the first one to go cock up. There's no containing a Chinese contagion. With the EU barely holding on and the US economy still struggling for momentum...this whole "recovery" could blow up quickly.
