iPhone 5

When I got the iPhone 3G, I swore I'd never get another phone other than the iPhone.

that's exactly how I was. I made the mistake of trying out an HTC inspire before I got my 4. TOTAL waste of money

I have had the option to upgrade for a year now but I am still grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited data and I am scared to upgrade and lose that. I have heard that if I buy the phone without a contract I can keep my old plan but if I get a discount, they can force the new plan system on me.

yeah if you upgrade and extend your contract they take away unlimited data. I am in the same boat.

I heard in February of 2014 or 2015...EVERYONE will lose unlimited data that has it.

I'm sure they appreciate your fealty.

Exhibit A as to why I have rid myself of all Apple products--save one iPod.

Had a router (airport extreme), ipad (1st gen), phone (4), the works.

The iPhone5 is an inferior product to the best available from HTC, LG, and Samsung.

If you compare the iPhone 5 to some midrange piece of garbage you can get for 49.00, of course the iPhone shines. It is dependable, reliable, familiar, and easy. Your grandmother loves it.

But it is priced like the S4, the HTC One, etc. Compare it to those, and it's no contest.

And no, I'm not an android fan . . I'd buy a Windows phone as well.

I've had an IPhone 4 for a year now and I'm ready for a change. What type of phone y'all be havin?

Its basically boils down to whether you want simplicity (more for the older crowd) or the ability to customize just about everything on your phone (younger crowd)

iPhone is the best phone for simplicity. Easy to navigate etc.

I have the Galaxy s4. I prefer it due to the fact you can customize just about EVERYTHING to look, respond, shortcut pretty much anything you want.

So if you are going to ease of use, definetly go iPhone, if you like to customize and make your phone yours then i would go Galaxy S4 or wait for the Galaxy Note 3 (i believe coming out in the next few months)

All in all though Android > iOS

and yes ive had both.

Well stated. iOS is just going to be a little more idiot proof and stable. Though Android is getting close in that regard. My wife is running 4.3 on a Nexus4 and she's a technophobe and does fine with it.

There are valid reasons for preferring the iPhone. But most of the most loyal just never consider--or have never had--anything else.
