What is the weirdest job that you have done in your life, thus far.

I dug graves for people that had recently died with a shovel.
A bulldozer or bob-cat couldn't get in, so we used a ditch-witch and manual labor at 11pm at night. Rain was a problem, but the supervisor had a pump that went to a large water tank on back of the truck and we sprinkled sand into the grave to dry things up for the ceremony.
We were literally there 30 minutes before people arrived to say their goodbyes, and the funeral home would call us by cell phone to make sure the site was ready because the ceremony was about to arrive.
We pumped it and ran to a McDonald's that was near. And then came 3 hours later to manually fill in the grave and lay the sod.
Easy peasy for a first job that young. Getting people to die was unpredictable, but more common than you might imagine every two weeks. The grave-site used to go to hospitals and nursing homes each day to get an update on things.
The Money was decent.

Whoever runs all of the Vonner accounts needs professional help. There are at least 4.
Same with the Alabama fan who creates these boring photoshops and gets banned once per month, only to create a new account a week later.

Garbage man. Worked in a town where people had "back door service" so would run through people's back yards hunting wherever they decided to put their can and take the bags out and run them down the driveway to the truck. Biggest risk was dogs and getting stuck with needles poking out of the bags.

Over Christmas break my senior year of high school, my uncle, mayor of our little town, asked me to work for the water department.
They were wanting to fix leaks in the sewer system. So, I got to "smoke" sewers for a couple weeks. Crawl down into the sewer pipe and set off some smoke bombs, put a fan near them to force the smoke out of the pipes where folks to see the smoke and mark the leak.
Yeah, as fun as it sounds.

One Summer in college, I was pretty much a janitor with my buddy at his dad's warehouse. One of the nastiest jobs I ever worked but also taught me appreciation for people in that field. To this day I always say hello/good morning to our cleaning crew at my office.

My Dad decided it was time for me to work for someone besides family the summer I turned 16.
And without asking he found me a construction job. A place where fresh meat was a cherished delicacy. So after being hoisted in the air while greasing the track hoe and rocked real good, to riding a jack hammer like a pogo stick, I finally got settled into life in the bottom of a ditch with a flat shovel. So about three weeks in the backhoe operator blows out a tire, from not using his stabilizers, as the owner was driving by. Fired him fast and looking around asked who could drive it. No body offered. And being now perturbed he said son can you?
Well.. I can drive a tractor. So new job. Didn't even have drivers license. Was riding a ten speed to work. Turned out I was a good driver but not much of an operator so he hired a pro in a couple weeks. But instead of putting me back in the hole he made me the dynamite crew. With what had been a one man show. Had just turned 16 that week.
Way back in the olden days of the early 70's ... they'd never allow such these days. Yep, three raises in three months, but it still highly reinforced going to college.

Was 15 years old and my Dad offered me up to help a friend of his out. His friend was raising worms for fishing. Guy had two worm bed-boxes 3 ft wide and 8 ft long and 2 ft deep.
One bed went BAD and another kid and I had to clean out the dead worms. GROSS. They turned grey and mushy. Spent a solid two days doing this. My Dad picked me up the last day and apologized for having me do that job.
Dad and I fished for bream with crickets from that day on.

I spent a few years diving for mussels, mostly on The Tennessee River, but sometimes on other rivers as well. There was great money in that at one time. Also spent a year collecting different types of moss and wild plants for a floral supply company. The money was pretty good in that, and I got to spend a lot of time in the woods and in the mountains, but I also had a lot of close calls with rattle snakes, wild hogs and such. Caught a lot of ticks and poison oak too.

I drove a beer delivery truck. Sold beer, cups, pickled egg, and pickled pig feet. Stores were great, but delivering to crime infested bars in the hood changed my mind. Lasted 4 weeks.

Washed commercial and passenger jets at an airport one summer. Me and a buddy rode around the airport (too fast) on the back bumper of box trucks in the middle of the night. We had to climb on the planes to scrub and pressure wash them and buffed the American Airline planes. Strange, loud, after hour job.

3 years in a row in college, for Christmas break, I got to drive around in a golf cart in my neighborhood and deliver UPS packages.
They dropped a golf cart at our house and would have a truck drop the packages off in our garage every day and I'd load up the golf cart and drive around for probably 4 or 5 hours and deliver all the packages. I think they paid me like $18/hour to basically drive around in a golf cart for most of the day.
It did snow one year and I got a little stupid in the golf cart and slid down through someone's yard and had to push it over and up the driveway.
