I'm in Jacksonville and it's probably the Braves (with 2016 being the exception).

In southern, central and western Oklahoma the pro sports team of choice is easily the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. After that it’s the OKC Thunder obviously.

They don’t care much for hockey in Oklahoma so the stars are off the radar. I think up in northern Oklahoma & Tulsa it’s the Chiefs and I’m sure their success has made that even more true.

I live in Virginia (not NoVa)and there is not nearly as much support for the Redskins as you would think. If I had to guess I would say they are the most popular team but it's probably a plurality and not a majority and not much passion either. There is even less interest, if any, for the Nats, Bullets and Caps. Everywhere I've lived Black people are either Cowboy or Steeler fans and I've always lived somewhere with an NFL team nearby. It's bizarre and they aren't shy about it either.

Same here. Redskins owner George Preston Marshall refusing to integrate the team until the mid to late 60's is a big reason why the Cowboys (or any other NFL team) are popular in the black community.

No one cares about the NHL (in small cities) unless they’re doing well.
I saw it in NC for the Canes.

Kinda funny this got bumped and how this actually happened.

Carolina was 28th in attendance this year.

Make the playoffs and up 2-0, all the sudden everyone cares

Would not want to face them if the Blues were in the East. They're scary.

Hockey is so ridiculous that you don’t know who the frick could win.
That said I sure as hell jumped on the bandwagon.

Edited to update Reds for the state of Kentucky, probably more so than Bengals.

When I lived in Kentucky and traveled the state, it seemed like the western side of the state were mostly Cardinal fans in MLB and Titans fans for NFL and some Rams fans.

Growing up in Mississippi (Jackson metro) in the 80's and early 90's, most were Saints fans along with Cowboys fans (which I am) and some Oilers fans.

I'm not saying they are the most popular, but I see more Atlanta United stuff in Montgomery than any other pro team.

Yep forgot about that.

When the panthers suck you see more Rivers and Wilson jerseys than any panthers jersey.

Was a much tougher question in 2014-2016 when the Royals were good though

In the Phoenix area it is whoever won a championship the season before regardless of sport, unless the local teams are winning. Then everyone has always been a Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Suns, Coyotes fan.

Other then some of the smaller cities it seems like Western fans tend to be very band wagon.

A good friend of mine was a huge Oregon fan... until they dropped back a bit and now she could care less.
