Someone is going to be disappointed.

I'm actually happy for him if that's the case. He always seemed really uncomfortable with himself and I think it's great that he's accepting everything

Doesn't bother me. He is still a beast on the field regardless. What happens off the field with any player is really none of my business.

It would not bother me at all, but I can only imagine what the idiots of some fan bases would do during a game (posters, shirts, etc...), and it WOULD happen, unfortunately.
That's my point. And OP is vague, it just says "would it change how you felt about them", well of course it would in one way or another. He didn't ask if it would make you dislike them.

Don't think it's with any players fwiw, he has a pretty tight knit crew even a few guys he grew up with in Foley that live with him but don't think he'd cross that line jmo
I agree Bird, he was so extremely charismatic and liked and it was funny that ppl didn't understand why or didn't comprehend but if you looked at the signs it was fairly obvious, but he does seem uncomfortable a lot of times

Just to be honest, it would do great things for gay tolerance in the South. He's played for Alabama and a team in Georgia. And was a superstar at both.

Why would it change how you feel about them? I had no clue about this Julio stuff, and now that I do, he is still the man.

You wish man. Cam is Alabama's kryptonite, just accept it. Cam just isn't a thugged out NFL player that blows his money at strip clubs.

I wouldn't suspect any professional player on any team to cross that line with another player.
But I hope he is living his life like he wants to and not hiding about it. No shame in being who you are. I do hope he doesn't make a huge media scene about it though. Don't see why a player coming out has to be talked about on espn for a week straight.

Every time Shepherd Smith is brought up on here people start shitting on him and Ole Miss because he is gay, so now whenever I see him it's one of the first things I think about. So that's how it would change how I felt about him.
It's shitty that that's how it is, but it is.

But Sheppard Smith is terrible and works for a terrible media outlet. He's not an NFL superstar
Posted on 4/30/13 at 2:40 pm to Bama Bird
Oh so if it was Eli Manning who was gay then everyone would be cool about it
Posted on 4/30/13 at 2:41 pm to Bama Bird
Ya, I didnt know he was gay, but my opinion of him remains unchanged.
Actually that's not true. I don't see how he can work for an organization that the is the propaganda arm of the republican party and be gay. Not the most enlightened organization ever.

The discussion of whether Eli Manning is a great QB is an entirely different topic in itself

If someone will poison their rivals sacred trees, teabag, get giant tattoos of bear bryant, name their kid after nick saban, etc.. etc......I'm pretty sure the "classier" fans of the SEC would make life hell for the student who did come out. It's a shame, but get real. It would happen, and that is why I highly doubt any college football player would go public with that.
Posted on 4/30/13 at 2:49 pm to Bama Bird
Don't be obtuse. You and everyone else knows that if he was gay that we would get shite about it, which would in turn make me feel differently about him. Not because I dislike him, but because his name would bring up thoughts of how opposing fans talk about him.
Plus he wouldn't be able to give us a son, which is unacceptable.

I really don't care about how Mississippi feels about their average, 8-8 NFL quarterback who got lucky in two separate playoff runs. Let Mississippi be Mississippi; it doesn't mean Alabama and Georgia would do the same. Where Mississippi went wrong was when they decided to care more about "tradition" and way-of-life than they did about football. That's why Ole Miss is what they are today.

I had no doubt in my mind that Jeff Garcia was when he was the Bucs starting QB and I had no problem with it
