Suggestions?
Considering a Masterbuilt, however the wood chip tray is too small and you must put more in it too often...
Love smoking meats (no Ghey) so if you have some great advice, let me know please... TY

I prefer offset stick burners, to each his own I guess.

Are you married? If so, then:
is a good excuse to go outside as much as possible.

I have a Masterbuilt and it works great.
I usually put chips in once an hour for the first three hours. If it is something that smokes quick like chicken, then only twice.

Just got a charcoal kamodo smoker myself. Love it so far.

We had a good thread on smokers on the Dynasty board.
Hawgeye and Missy had the best info IIRC.

I got one of those cheap black ones (no racist). It works great for small batches (no dwarfist). But if you like smoking a lot meat (no homo), you should spring for one of those $700 Egg things (frick the poors).

It's sad you have to qualify every word anymore.

I have a Masterbuilt propane smoker. If you're worried about the wood chip tray, pick up a lodge skillet and use that for more room. That's what I do and it works pretty well.

Electric smokers are kinda like those Mr Beer kits they sell. They're nice starters. But there are much better options than electric. Go either charcoal or gas.
I have a 22" Smokey Mountain Cooker. They also make a 14" & 18". Mine will could do 6 boneless pork butts at once. It's a beast, though bigger then I usually need. You can pick up the 14" for $200. And the WSM is over of the only vertical smokers that are popular on the BBQ circuit.
Offset barrels are also great. But for me, I've moved too often for a very heavy, oddly shaped (for inside the uhaul) smoker. But I fricking love cooking on them.
If you go propane, if you can spring it, don't cheap out on your smoker. One cheap one might not last as long, or work very well. If I were paying, I'd get a Tragger (sp?). I've heard amazing things about them, and their pellets are pretty reasonable at Costco.

if you are the slightest bit handy, build yourself an Ugly Drum Smoker

I have a Masterbuilt because my apartment doesn't allow charcoal or propane. The chips don't go very far and the temp was off. But I don't mind adding chips every hour (way better than tending a fire) and I use my Maverick to get the temp just right.
There are better electrics than the Masterbuilt but you are going to be dropping some coin.

We have a Traeger at our farm/deer camp. It does a decent job I guess, but the meat seems to lack much smoke flavor. It's pretty easy to use though. Turn it on, load the wood puck feeder, throw the meat on, and go about your day.

I have a Masterbuilt electric smoker with digital controls and love it. I love that I can control the temperature consistently all year long. I highly recommend it.

Exactly. If you're getting electric, get a Masterbuilt. Adding wood chips once an hour is no big deal

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my Weber kettle for cold smoking meats, but they have some options for using with hot-smoking meats as well, and then you wouldn't have to add smoke nearly as often. Really good reviews on Amazon, and a lot of people use with Masterbuilt smokers:
