NE... A Maze-n smoker rocks! Great for smoking cheeses.

We have a Traeger at our farm/deer camp. It does a decent job I guess, but the meat seems to lack much smoke flavor. It's pretty easy to use though. Turn it on, load the wood puck feeder, throw the meat on, and go about your day.

Interesting. It makes me glad I went with charcoal. If you can taste the smoke, it's not the same.

You still taste the smoke on an electric. The biggest loss IMO is you don't get a smoke ring.

I mean you can taste it, it's just not as pronounced. Especially on larger cuts of meat like butts and briskets.

Some of it may be subconscious as well, because it doesn't give as much bark as a traditional smoker. The meat is still good, especially the wings we smoke on it.

Sound like it would be good for chicken or rubs. But I live to cook butts. And since I'm in Colorado, where all bbq seems to be terrible, so I'll be smoking a lot.

Bradley makes a good electric smoker too it uses compressed wood disc that are automatically fed into the smoker as smoke is needed

Question for people that have an electric smoker. I am interested in purchasing a MasterBuilt and putting it on the balcony of my apartment.

How much smoke do these smokers put off? I would have it on a balcony in Texas where you cannot have a grill, so hoping to be fairly discreet. Do these things produce billowing smoke?

Ours puts out a fair amount of smoke. Not billowing, but definitely noticeable.
