Had no idea another school would have that mascot. I didn't even know such a bird existed until this thread, and my hs played Stuttgart in football for years. I just thought it was some goofy shite they made up since there's rice farming there.

Not as weird as the other schools, but one of our main rivals when I was in high school was known as the Ridge View Blazers........ Except their mascot was a purple pony.

Well when I was there, we weren't beating up on anyone really. We only won 6 games when I was at Spring Valley. Even though one of them was to Ridge View. .

When we go on vacation we pass the Watersmeet Nimrods High School in Watersmeet, Michigan. There was a great commercial on ESPN for them years ago. Also here in Illinois there are the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes.

As has been said, the Central Purple Pounders here in Chatt. They use the Charlotte 49ers logo.
Then you have the Silverdale Seahawks, despite the fact that Chattanooga is absolutely nowhere near the ocean.
Back in SC, one of my college buddies was a Johnsonville Golden Flash.

My high school back in the day was the Lanier Poets ( for Sidney Lanier). Actually won a couple of state championships with that name.
