perfect, and Huntsville is a great city to pass through

Well there really is just a rocket to see while passing through, unless they stop as the Space and Rocket center. We're really just a boring engineering/research city. As you know, many of us in Huntsville, go to Guntersville to relax. It is a cool little city, which is why your reccomendation brought a smile to my face.

But basically Cullman was a sundown town. Meaning if you were black you weren't generally welcome after dark. Black people come in to work, most of them live in Vinemont. They were not slave owners, so there is a very low population of black people in the area.

If you’re in Tennessee still what you’re doing with the gun is illegal. Not that I give a shite

Mississippi doesn’t require permits for concealed carry or open carry, Tennessee requires both. Not completely sure on Alabama but I think it’s closer to Mississippi than Tennessee

It’s the Wild West in the sip. I can carry a gun like a Cuban in Miami in my waistband and it be legal son

I feel like there’s towns like that in every state. Vidor, TX and Marlow, OK are two that come to mind for me. It’s like they used to be that way forever ago then people keep the reputation alive by rumors. Weird how a place that was not a slavery hot spot would be anti black.

From one beach town to another. What a sweet ride that is. Now, I want to head that way.

I lived in Metairie/New Orleans years ago and would head east on the two lane on the weekends, slow ride to Ft Walton, etc

I'm sure there is. Cullman was just a little slower than places north and south of it in the progress.

He should go to Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur if that's what he wants.

I will stomp a mudhole in your arse.

BBG is good for smoked chicken, though. Don't know that I've ever had anything but pork from Whitt's.

Whitt's is the reason why I spent the first 40 years of my life hating pulled pork.

I think Tennessee is a constitutional carry state now. No permits needed

This thread is 44% wrong information, 44% unfounded opinion, and 10% real helpful information that got derailed by the other 88%. And there was one post by LSUStephen. If you are coming down 65 there are hampton inn’s at cullman, Gardendale, pelham, prattville, and greenville that are fairly nice, safe and have decent restaurants nearby. Do NOT stay at the hampton inn or any hotel that is south Montgomery/Montgomery airport.

Reminds me of the scene from National Lampoon's Family Vacation when Chevy Chase went through St Louis and had his hubcaps stolen all the while he was asking the brother for directions. He also got "Honky Lips" spray painted on his station wagon.
