Pods C and D are too unbalanced. Gives the smaller pod that gets to play D an advantage. Need to switch either LSU or aTm with UK/Vandy and itd be better

Also frick having to play UGA UF and Bama every year.

Give UT to USC and Bama to UF.

It's a brilliant solution, and it solves the schedule's inherent inequity. Everyone gets what they want.

As for USC playing Bama, UF, and UGA, bring it. It's tough, but if we want to be players in the conference, what better way than adding Bama to two schools we already play every year, anyway. We've fared pretty well against the Tiders the last several times we've played them.

Someone send this off to the folks in Birmingham.

Did ya think about home and home series? You cant put off facing a team away after playing them at home.

This will not work. Logic, thought, intelligence and wisdom are out

You must use favoritism, back woods thinking, moon shine clouded knowledge base and down right, good ole boy ciphering to schedule football games

A valiant effort but Mark and Mike want to stay roommates. After all they made their own bed and want to sleep in it

Ah, gotcha. Well I'm all for playing every SEC team every other year and being able to travel to each stadium in a four year period. Also, I think its important to keep games like Alabama/Tenn, UGA/Aub, and LSU/UF despite what the board is arguing about today.
nick Saban wants his players to be able to play all the teams in the conference during their stay. He also wants to keep rivalries alive. He also only has a three year window to do so with his awesome players.

I bet he supports this. And a 9th game since SOS will factor in hugely in the 4 team playoff. He doesn't want to have to blowout some overrated OOC team when he can play an SEC opponent. Steel doesn't sharpen against butter like Ohio State or Notre Dame.

It would work until the first even year.

In that season LSU would play:
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Florida
South Carolina
Georgia

In those same Even years, this is the division in which Alabama would play:
Alabama
Auburn
Tennessee
Missouri
Kentucky
Arkansas
Vandy

The Odd years would, based on the current "Big 6", be split evenly, only Alabama would be in one division and the other 5 in the other in Even years.

Based on other threads seen here, do you REALLY think no one would complain about that?

Does A&M get to play Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State every single year? If not, do not want.

It's brilliant.

Let's see who has the more difficult schedules based on how teams have fared historically. I'll say that with Sumlin at A&M and their recent success, they'll be considered a tough opponent for the foreseeable future.

Tough games during even years with an 8 game schedule:

Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, A&M

Georgia: Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, A&M

Tennessee: Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas

Alabama: Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas

Auburn: Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas

LSU: A&M, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina

Ole Miss: LSU, A&M, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas

Arkansas: Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, A&M

Just looking at those teams, it looks like LSU and Arkansas would have much easier schedules than others while Georgia, Florida and Ole Miss would be dealing with a very difficult one.

EDIT - Just glancing at the odd years and it looks like it doesn't get any more difficult for LSU and Arkansas. Alabama and Auburn pick up 6 difficult games. As does Tennessee.

because of our long history with all those schools? Of all the schools to bitch about who we play, we should be the last

This is an elegant solution to a complex problem

Not really. The SEC East and the SEC West would cease to exist. I like having a division. I like have a consistent set of teams you are competing with for a shot at Atlanta. Someone narrowly defeats you for the division crown one year, and there is a chance you don't get a revenge game? Convoluted. Not elegant.

despite this being around for about a year, I've never heard it mentioned anywhere but message boards. I do wonder if it's been discussed or will be at Destin. It's confusing and I'm sure that would make them all step away for a bit, but it solves essentially every problem including the 4 home/4 away issue that comes with 7 locked in games.

that's your complaint vs solving

- home/away scheduling issue
- not playing everyone but every 7 years
- preserving key rivalries
- giving scheduling variety

It's relatively minor. I can appreciate the feel of the division thing but I think that would go away fast because you would constantly have a fresh rotation of games each year. We don't use divisions in all sports btw.

This is a cool idea. But u still think just keep it like it is , but the rotating game should be based on previous results and you play your cross division equal with a +1/-1 differential, just in case your rival is that matching partner.

It's basically saying for 1 game each year we are taking an NFL stance on scheduling , the best play the best and the weaker play the weaker.

I would trade you MSU for Bama. I would much prefer to play one of the AL schools or UF every year than MSU. Do want to play Ole Miss and A&M every year regardless.

Need a waiver from the NCAA to make the SEC championship game work... But assuming that can be done, then I am for this 100%

Would we even need a waiver? NCAA requires divisions. This system has divisions they just change from year to year
