Problem with Alabama's ninth game permanent opponents. LSU picks up Bama as a ninth game permanent . Does not correlate on Bama's end- lists A&M instead.

Changing the division me members to:

Div A: Div B:
Bama. UF
UGA. LSU
UT. A&M
AU. USC
MSST. MIZZO
OM. ARK
UK. VANDY

That's a balanced split and keeps most of the rivalries intact.

It's relatively minor. I can appreciate the feel of the division thing but I think that would go away fast because you would constantly have a fresh rotation of games each year. We don't use divisions in all sports btw.

9 game with permanent does this as well. Stagger your two rotating opponents wuth one historically strong and one historically weak opponent and you're good to go.

While the rest of you are bitching about problems, I'm searching for solutions.

At first glance, this seems a little convoluted. However, after looking at it for a few minutes, it isn't nearly as complicated as it first appears and is by far the best SEC scheduling solution I have seen.

Is there anyone that finds a problem with this concept?

How do we, the lowly minions of the SECRant, get this type of idea on the radar of those that matter?

Not that I disagree with the premise of the column, but it does cause me to wonder-why the SEC made no big deal out of not playing everyone in the conference, on a regular basis, prior to expansion?

Cases in point, Florida and Tennessee did not play from 1956-1968, yet the conference got-along just fine. Georgia and Bama did not play from 66-71. Ole Miss and Florida did not play from ... well, let's put it this way. They've only played 23 times in the entire history of the conference, several times going a decade or more between games. MSU and Kentucky have only played 40 times, most of those coming after expansion.

Conversely, Georgia and South Carolina have played 62 times and only twice going more than five years between games, once in the 20s and once in the 40s.

So I contend that playing one another on a regular basis is not as important to the conference as some here may be suggesting.

I would personally love this.

If you have a problem with playing a tough schedule every now and then maybe you should not be a fan of the game.

Whats that saying, if you cant stand the heat, DIAF?

Damn that's a lot to read. All I know is it wants USC to play Florida, Georgia, and Alabama every single year. frick that.

Florida, Georgia, and Alabama will all have down years, trust me, it just seems right now that its impossible.

The only change I would make is that Tennessee needs to be in the SEC East pod and Florida needs to be in the SEC South pod.

we both know because we've discussed it before, that 9 introduces a host of different issues. No need to rehash it all and I know you are a big proponent of 9 but 8 OR 9 games, this concept works.

Also, this is likely the system we'd use for 16 so the transition would be fairly simple.

This is an incredible idea. I love it and have since I first saw it. Everyone should just spam whoever the schedule makers are until we get some kind of reply or something that they are considering it. It flat blows away anything else they have proposed.

What if you suggest a manage a tois? The one you're currently dating will be disgusted and tell her roommate. Her roommate will be intrigued and flattered. The gf dumps you and then the now flattered roommate is easy pickings.

If everything goes belly up, you get a 3-way!
