If you aren't religious, obviously this doesn't apply to you [/feebleattempttoavoidubiquitoustrolling]

Do you say "forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors," or "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us"?

My family and I always said "debtors," but it's funny to me when I'm saying it in a group setting and have to wait for the others to catch up at that juncture

quote:

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

First church as a kid said trespasses. The next church said debts. They were both PCA so I don't think it's a denominational think. I definitely lag on that part of the prayer in an unfamiliar church so I don't say the wrong one like an idiot

However P. Diddy says it, that's how I say it.

Trespasses, and I grew up not saying the final line.

I say "for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, amen."

I've heard it the other way plenty of times, though
