LOL this is also hilarious. You clearly don't know how public/private partnerships work, or just commercial real estate in general.

Texas didn't pay a cent for the arena because private equity put up the funds. Instead, Texas gets revenue for their own events, and a share of the revenue on others.

Texas had three failed capital campaigns over a ten-year period where they failed to reach even 10% of their goal to fund the new basketball arena. That is a fact. It was not their choice to have private money and private ownership on their basketball arena and they give up all the revenue from it, you can spin it however you want it but it was a failure, a huge failure on behalf of the University of Texas

The Moody Center is a state-of-the-art venue located in the heart of downtown Austin and will be home to top concert tours as well as popular sporting events including The University of Texas at Austin Women's and Men's basketball games.

The $375 million arena is named Moody Center in honor of a $130 million grant from the Moody Foundation, one of the largest gifts The University of Texas has ever received. From the impeccable acoustics of the 530,000 square-foot arena to fans' intimate proximity to artists, the 15,000-seat venue will fully immerse guests in an Austin-authentic live music experience.

Developers for the $375 million project include The University of Texas at Austin, Matthew McConaughey, Oak View Group (OVG), and Live Nation Entertainment/C3 Presents.

The University needed a new basketball arena. The other “developers” helped fund the incremental world class acoustics and amenities.

For comparison, TAMU’s Reed Arena would cost $61 million in 2021 dollars.

No one is saying it isn’t nice, but it’s a hilarious joke that the university launched three massive capital campaigns in an effort to fund the arena and all three combine did not reach 10% of the overall goal which forced them to seek private interest money and private ownership in order to get a basketball arena
