I made a promise to my wife to treat her with respect. RESPEKT!

why would you feel strange talking about it if it were to happen?
never said it would be strange, we just said that neither one of us would want to know.

You have a "Don't ask/Don't tell" policy.

I think that traditional marriage and child rearing is an important facet to society and the well being of a nation.
I understand and support the tax code as it incentivizes the traditional family model, which the least amount of criminals and most productive members tend to come from that. I know there are terrible people that come from good homes and wonderful people that come from broken homes, but the majority of time that is not the case.

I do support the right of gays to marry and have the government recognize that as a legitimate union. Also for common law marriages and civil unions.
While I don't agree with either lifestyle itself, I do not think that the government should not encourage the growth of a stable lifestyle whether there is a marriage "tag" placed on it or not.

Meh. If it was all it's cracked up to be y'all wouldn't hide eachother's strange from eachother. When it comes down to it, marriage might be archaic in your eyes, but mating can't be outdated because it's eternal. Until you watch your wife get the best frick of her life from another man, and you're okay with it, then I doubt this is anything other than dating with tax breaks.
Honest question. If she was fricking a dude(and he fricked her brains out in ways you couldn't come close to) and was just with you out of convenience, how would you know? And if booty was just booty, you would be perfectly okay with this scenario being plausible, wouldn't you? You could still have semi-normal marriage issues, she is just having better sex with a guy she likes more.
And there in lies the root of the issue. Our hormones aren't archaic either. Sex releases tons of endorphins and things like oxytocin. You can't give yourself to another person, and that not be the best sex imaginable.

So, your "marriage" is really just a piece of paper.
I'm sorry.
If it makes him happy, live and let live friend.

I agree, I just think it's a bit of a charade. If he was watching dudes frick his wife better than he ever dreamed of, and was okay with it, I'd believe him. I mean if he believes it, I guess that's all that matters.

Do you think marriage is still a valid institution today?*
Yes, but the courts and feminism have all but ruined it. Men get a raw deal in it and are constantly at the mercy of the woman and the courts to not lose everything they have. This has completely thrown off the balance of power in the marriages themselves. However, despite all of the bull shite politics, marriage is absolutely a valid institution. It is a noble cause to devote your life to another person and to raising children with that person.

But if you marry someone that you trust, are faithful, and plan to be with that person "til death do you part" how is feminism and the courts ruining marriage?
You would think knowing the courts could frick you would make people take it more seriously.

if you want kids marriage provides a stable environment (as long as the parents aren't tards)
i never wanted kids and stayed single. feel like it was a good decision for me
also think that if you're going to have kids you should stay together until the children are grown - you brought them into the world - at least have the balls to give them a stable environment until they grow up

Life is really hard.. The day to day difficulties people face can be really overwhelming at times... People aren't meant to go through that shite alone.. You need someone to share both the good and bad times with... Whether it's a close friend, spouse or significant other... I chose marriage and I believe it's a valid institution... But if someone else goes about it in a different way that's their business and fine with me... It's hard to find happiness... It's damn near impossible to find it alone.

Yes.
And although I'm a Christian, my faith doesn't affect the gravity with which I regard my marriage.
Also, other couples' druthers on the subject are of little consequence to me, personally.

I think it's painting with a broad brush, but if I caught my stay-at-home wife cheating on me and we divorced, she'd get half of everything, the kids, legal fees, and child support. Despite not having made a salary for 9 years. Thank God Texas doesn't have alimony to boot with that.
I don't know if feminism is to blame here, but the courts have effed up royally with precedence that that is an acceptable outcome.
