I buy that. I don't think anybody deserves blame in this situation but GQ knew what they were doing.

They didn't bait him, they asked him what he considered sinful. He could have said anything and he said homosexuals. That's not a leading question, he could have answered with any kind of sin and he chose to single out the gay community.

What other reason would GQ have for interviewing Robertson except to make him out to be a fool? I just can't see them being interested in his "style."

I called it. Phil's back without an apology for anything other than "course language. "

Money won for A$E. Not their convictions.

Of course not. That they let him back on without an apology is telling.

But he did apologize. He said he wouldn't back down from his beliefs but that he didn't mean to hurt anybody.

Also, current episodes were already in the can and were already scheduled to be shown.

Exactly. Was there really ever any doubt he would return?

That's not the apology the gay community was looking for and you know it.

That's about the same as me telling my wife I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt.

You mean to tell me that apology doesn't work?

I've been doing it wrong

Maybe not, but it's enough to get him back in the show, IMO.
Filming resumes in March and the whole clan will be back. I just hope they'll get a better agent. Their current agent sucks, obviously.

He wasn't fired. He was put on "hiatus." He won't miss any new episodes. By March this will have blown over.

He was never in danger of being fired, which illustrates how ridiculous the whole ordeal really was.

Obviously you can't tell the difference between the two or you wouldn't have started this thread.
