Sitting in a cubicle all day is dreadful

Has anyone ever sat in the cubicle next so someone that needs to discuss his work aloud in order to get it done? I have to look up every other minute due to him talking. Most of the time I can't tell if he's talking to me or himself.

That does sound like it sucks.
Thankfully my degree from State started me out higher than sitting in a cubicle.
I jest.

Never worked in a cubicle but I imagine it's the worst.. At least put up some pretty pics to brighten your day

They built a new building for my wife's department and to make it more "green" they moved everyone from an office to a cubicle. It sounds horrible.

My cubicle changes daily. I could never ever go back to an office/cubicle environment. It would be like prison.

I work for a place that has the open office plan. It's kind of cool I guess.
We also have these standing/sitting desks that adjust. That helps a bit.
They mix everyone together. No one has an office, even the managers.

Sitting in an office by yourself all day isn't much better. At least I can close my door though when I need to buckle down and get some work done.

I am in a cubicle now, make more than the people in the offices
.
Have done the work out of my house, office and on the road thing in the past. I am surrounded by some fun people now, so cubicle life is better than anything else I have done so far.

I travel a lot. I am a construction company superintendent as well as their surveyor. Not real glamorous and extremely stressful at times but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well, I guess I should have specified air travel.
I'm not really fond of being in a car for an extended period of time.

At least you're doing man shite daily.. I'm in an office, may or may not do PT daily, and that's life.
The Army is boring when you're not deployed. Not saying I want that either, but once you do it a few times it makes garrison life lameo.

I already work Construction so if I'm going to find another job it's not going to be in Construction.

The chick next to me is always talking on the work phone making non-work related calls, then disappears for 3 hours during lunch.
The thing that helped me the most is my mp3 player.
