The real 007.
This is probably not the place or time for this, but bullshite. Sean Connery was 007. The end. I didn't dislike Roger Moore, but he was a very distant second to the man.

Connery sucked. He's not even British. He's a shiny oily Scot. He's all eyebrows.

"Do you lose as gracefully as you win?"
Bond: "I don't know. I never lost."
There's Sean Connery and then there's all the wannabe's.

This sucks. Because of all the terrorist shite going on, Moore's passing will go largely unnoticed. The best 007 there was. RIP

I have seen them all and Daniel Craig is the best Bond
#1 Daniel Craig - closest acting to actual character in books
#2 Sean Connery - best "cool" Bond
#3 Roger Moore - best "camp" Bond
#4 David Niven - best "funny" Bond
#5 George Lazenby - best "pretty" Bond
#6 Timothy Dalton - best "thespian" Bond
#7 Pierce Brosnan - best "chick" Bond, conversely, the worst Bond if you are a dude
While the list is subjective it is based on the skill of the actor to make the role their own (like Batman) and create a unique and memorable version of the character on the big screen version. In terms of acting, the Niven Bond may be the very best Bond of all, but the Craig version comes closest to the one I envision in my head when actually reading the books.
On a side note, Goldfinger was filmed partially in the SEC town of Lexington and the villain was based on a real life character who could be seen in the local Thoroughbred business at the time
The real life "Goldfinger" Charles W. Engelhard, Jr.
Even more interesting would be another person in the local horse business who almost pulled off the real life version of cornering the precious metals market when the Hunt Brothers (Bluegrass Farm on Versailles Road) almost cornered the world silver market.
