Kids movies are horrible with moms trying to save seats for whole other families

Kids movies are horrible because of kids and parents who won't leave with a crying/misbehaving kid.
It has gotten to the point that anything I want to see that isn't rated R I go to the Alamo on the days when it's only 21 and up.

Yesterday I ate at a restaurant where you order at the counter then pick your food up after they beep you. Well all tables were taken and at least four tables had just one person sitting there without a beeper just waiting for other people to arrive. I asked a guy on his phone sitting by himself if he could get up and let us use the table since he isn't eating and doesn't have a beeper. He seemed really embarrassed after the fact and deservedly so.

The school where I teach has a graduation seat saving policy.
You are allowed to save seats until 15 minutes before the event starts then an announcement is made that all saved seats are now fair game.
This is my favorite 15 minutes of graduation.
This is truly wonderful. You get hard and fast rules, and 15 minutes of hilarious entertainment at the same time.

Have you ever considered asking your family/friends to arrive at the same time as you?
You know how I know you are old?
Makes sense and is the correct way to dpi it but now everybody has to do their own thing so good luck getting folks to act in a reasonable way.

I have before at a condo building and the towel I happened to move was apparently the towel of the condo owner's board president. I only moved it because I was reading the paper while the wife and kids were finishing getting ready to go eat lunch. I was in the chair, not even in a bathing suit, maybe 15 minutes and when she came down there you'd have thought I tried to rape her with the way she reacted. She kept condescendingly asking me which unit I was renting and didn't like when I told her none of her business.

Correct move as after she initiated the booty call she would have blamed it all on you.

But in an empty arena, who cares? If it was the guys responsibility he could of been nicer and said "as the arena fills up you won't be able to save those seats"
He was just another guy attending.
No big deal. I moved up a few rows and still got my elderly mom in a seat.
All of our family are from out of town and I took my son bc he had to be there extra early.
Next time, I'll just tell everybody to get there earlier and I'll move up a little.
I could see it being a problem if the wrong person told the wrong person "you can't save seats."
The bigger problem was parking. They held 4 graduation at the arena back to back.
No peace officers directing traffic at all. It was a zoo.

It depends. You said group. Is that 4 or 5? If you're talking a huge amount of seats and it's crowded then yes it's ridiculous, but if you're saving them & the place is empty and your party is arriving before it gets packed then I don't see a problem at all. In fact if this were the case I'd tell the guy to go frick himself.

I believe this shite is so bad on cruises most have a sign stating if belongings are left unattended for X amount of minutes then they will be removed. Most people want to be on the back of the boat & so they will go and put their stuff in the best seats/tables/couches and leave it there all day. When I went on a cruise they enforced the hell out of this rule.

1 or maybe 2 at most? No problem. You trying to save rows of seats is bullshite. Has no one in your family ever witnessed a graduation? People really aren't importantas they think they are in the grand scheme of things. I am assuming these seats were great seats since you got there early. You deprive other kids parents from getting good seats when everyone in your whole family shows up and wants to sit together.
My advice to my family if we want good seats and sit together we ALL need to have our asses there at the same time and early. If you can't make it early sit wherever.

Seats were not particularly great. I purposely moved up a good bit so I would not have conflict. The guy went out of his way to come to this area. The arena was basically empty at that time. I did not "deprive" anyone of anything. It turned out fine; I just found it odd that ONE person would seek conflict in an empty arena.
