I think that's the neatest written menu I've ever seen.

Charleston is now one of the best places in the south for BBQ (couldn't be said 2-3 years ago).

Meh. Rural South Carolina absolutely destroys the bbq in Charleston. Something about city people kind of kills the culture and feel of a bbq place.

The best bbq I've ever had in SC was from this restaurant in a trailer about 45 minutes NW of Columbia.

Big D's in Hemingway is the truth also. I think the best BBQ in SC is still Sweatman's though Eutawville for the win.

And the best bbq in the south can be found in either South Carolina or Alabama.

It is like

1a. South Carolina
1b. Alabama
2. Everyone else

Pulled pork is good. I'm putting one on the pit tomorrow. But brisket and beef ribs set the standard. Anybody can smoke a pork butt. Nothing to it. But doing brisket right takes excellence, and very few people outside of Texas have a clue how to do it.

KC que is overrated AF. Burnt ends aren't as good as normally good brisket. KC sauce might as well be ketchup.

Pulled pork is literally the easiest thing to smoke. It's so forgiving. It's what you learn on before move up to ribs & brisket.

The absolute worst Que I've ever had was in FL. It had the best yelp reviews I could find in the area.

DONY EVER ORDER BRISKET OUTSIDE OF TEXAS.

Edit: I did get a recommendation for a place to try on the way to Gainesville. I'll give your stats another shot.

The brisket at Johnson's in Lafayette, LA is pretty on point.

ETA: Still not BBQ though.
