Parents; Could you resist and not harm the person that just killed your child?

Not a parent, but still not sure that I could control myself if something like this LINK happened to just any kid in front of me much less my own child.
cliffs: Bitch runs red light and crashes into pickup causing the truck to run over a 7 month old in a stroller and his dad, killing the kid.
Pretty sure it'd cause me to become some sort of Marvel Comic revengeful anti-hero.

frick man idk. I feel like I would probably be too paralyzed with grief to take any kind of action.

I've learned in my life, you don't know until you are in that situation.

I dont know what i would do. I know that I see far too many people driving like shite up here in Michigan. Passing people in the middle of busy intersections, running red light, and even saw someone pass a car while driving over a 4 track rrailroad crossing on a two lane road in my morning commute.
Even without someone being hurt or killed, i would like shake the frick out of them.

Like others have said, you don't know until you're in that situation, but I can speculate and say it would depend on the woman's attitude. Is she distraught about having killed my child or does she just not care?

No idea what I'd do. I could see being paralyzed by shock but also I could imagine exploding in anger.

A website set up for the childs memorial states the driver was texting behind the wheel.

this
and I hope I'm never in that situation.
my father has been, so i've witnessed that kind of grief. Pretty cruel of god.

In a situation like this I probably would not do anything to them to harm them because it was more of an accident. Yes the driver was at fault for texting and driving but its not like she did it on purpose.
Now if it was some person who intentionally harm to my child like just rape them or hurt them for no reason other than being mean or carrying out some sort of sick fantasy then yes I would go medieval on their arse I would literally kill them very very very slowly painfully and make them wish and beg for death

If it was a legitimate accident then no I wouldn't harm them other than maybe sueing if cell phone use or intoxication was suspected.
If it was a kidnap / rape situation then yes I'd be on the news.
Tough question either way

A child dies tragically and that womans life and the parents are forever damaged. Rage is part of grieving. Hopefully they are all God fearing folks. Gonna take some Jesus to get through that.

ugh, awful. No kids here but if it were my wife I don't know what I'd do - probably something very bad. I'm scared to think of the things I would do to protect her - they say it's x1000000 with your kids.

People are notoriously bad at driving. Time to get rid of cars

I don't have kids yet, but I imagine that I would be too grief stricken to care much about anything else in that moment.
Now later might be different, but I'd like to think the fact that it wasn't an intentional act would make me at least operate with basic common decency. Now if someone murdered my wife or kid? I can't imagine a scenario in which I wouldn't at least try and rearrange their face.

I think I would be in shock at losing my child but later the grief would turn to rage. Texting and driving is just stupid. I would need vengeance.

I have other children, it would not be in their best interest for me to be in prison. A person should think of his/her other responsibilities before acting. Also remember, revenge won't bring the child back.

If the girl was texting, doesn't that mean Jesus had control of the wheel?
