Only athletes and movie stars should make that much.
When athletes and movie stars don't produce results, they don't get paid.

Depends, if you're Christian then being rich is a sin.

Can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. I sure hope so.

You may want to try this one again. Think A.J. Burnett. Or Albert Pujols in 2 years. Or Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages.

Grew up in a very religious house, best friend was a minister. No one believes being wealthy is a sin. Most people believe the temptations it provides could be a hindrance.

But Jesus said eye of needles and camels and money, so it's a sin. Duh.

Well, it is. I can cite some scripture if you want but it would be easier if you just googled it. I don't want to derail this thread any further.

Some people think singing in church is a sin, so you're not in rare company. Lots of misguided people out there
Back to the subject, wealth inequality isn't necessarily a problem. It's fodder for class warfare types, and the ignorant

How much lube does it take to get your head that far up your arse?

Grevious angel has absolutely nailed it in this thread. People saying income inequality is a made up thing for poor people to get riled up about are ignorant. Hate people that see things through a polical lense of them vs us. Those are the truly ignorant.
Ftr, my situation is about the same as grevious angel socio economically. Make good money. Live where I want, water view, nice car, take vegas trips often, etc. Far from poor but see the obvious problem.

James 5:1 - Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
quote:
Luke 16:22 - And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
quote:
Luke 6:24 - But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
quote:
Matthew 19:21 - Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.
quote:
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called [unto him] his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all [they] did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living.
quote:
2 Corinthians 8:9 - For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
quote:
1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
There's plenty more. Yes, I do see the love of money over God is mostly the perceived problem. Now, do you think the wealthy (hell most anybody) in this country loves God more than money? Any answer other than "No" is being intellectually dishonest.
This is directed to the so called Christians who call on the name of Jesus and an hour later bitch about the "leeches" stealing all their money. The lack of compassion toward the poor of these Christians means missing one of the best moral messages of the whole damn bible.
Shrubber, I've seen enough of your posts to know you're fair minded. The religious exchange just gave me a good jumping off point.
