Hopefully this trend continues but I don't think it will.
Actually, I think they'll continue to get less traction. The nonsense going on right now is playing very, very poorly to mainstream America. The people who don't live in leftland are going to put a lot of pressure on the local authorities to not let that bullshait happen in their town.

NOTE: zero in the news today and it supposedly happened yesterday. My guess is that it is one or two people holding a sign.
They were calling it an Anti-Trump Protest, and the news this morning said it was today, not yesterday. I'd imagine you're right about it being a couple of people holding signs, and I wouldn't expect much of a turn-out for that stuff around here.
It's the vocal minority.

Hopefully you're right

At first I thought these protests were just harmless stupidity from academia and losers bitching about "the man" holding them back. Now they're actually annoying and some of them are becoming violent.
Even my stepmother, who claims to not like either party but has voted democrat in every election since Nixon and leans to the left of Karl Marx, is annoyed by these morons. She even said they should "get a fricking job" the other day.
There may be hope for her yet.

Sounds like my Mom. She's been a devout Dem since the late 50s (she changed to an independent) but voted for Trump and derides these asshats. When she was visiting during Christmas I told her that she is definitely more Rep than Dem or Indy

this board is so full of stupid is unbelievable. Only in the south will people have a problem with a protest for peace with everything going on in the world today. If he starts banning white boys from places to prevent mass shootings im sure you won't protest either right?

I think my stepmother would lean much further right if she hadn't spent the last 40 years working in a program that helps the mentally disabled function in every day society.
The people she helps actually need help, and that's all she sees everyday. I guess she feels like her clients are unfairly lumped in with the lazy and entitled, and she does have a point.

How many people from the SECR do you think she's run across during that time?

She does but the problem is no one is willing to expose the lazy/entitled for what they are.

What left wing 'protests for peace' look like in this century.

BLM disrupted the UT basketball team's senior night by filling the student section wearing all black, standing with one fist in the air for large parts of the 1st half, turning their backs to the game for other parts, chanting BLM shite and then finally having a mass exodus right after halftime leaving the student section behind the basket completely empty for the entire 2nd half. This was on senior night the last game at UT for several of the players. Nice final show of support and gratitude they gave those players for busting their arse for four years for their school.
