Wonder if Mississippi's governor will do the same?

Hell no.

Well, he also gave a lot of money to a couple of very anti-gay groups.

So? Did he give his own money or company money?

btw...neither of which matter. You don't agree with it? Don't support it.

That's the way things are supposed to work. If a group of Vegans are offended by places that serve meat, will you stand by them to force those places to go Vegan or shut down? Or would you just suggest they stay the frick out of a steakhouse.

Just pointing it out that the outcry towards Chick Fil A wasn't simply because he was against gay marriage.

It was the cause of the majority of it.

How did that work out for Chik-fil-a though?

If you remember it was the biggest day they ever had saleswise in a single day.

Maybe so, but a few of my gay friends had been boycotting CFA long before the public hoopla over it a couple of years ago.

They had their best year ever last year because of it. They won that little conflict quite easily.

Not that i agree with it but private businesses should have every right to refuse service to people they don't want to do business with.

This reminds me of something you would hear in the 1960s.

Cool. That's within their rights to not eat there. Just like it's within a private businesses rights to not serve people they don't want to serve.

GOOD!

That's how it should be. Kind of......

I'm also a firm believer that I don't get my political opinions from a fricking chicken sandwich. Same with celebrities and athletes.

good for your friends if they just made the personal choice to avoid a place they disliked. Now if they whined for gov intervention to force chickfila to like them then they are part of the problem.

Agreed. I'm not really speaking out in favor of, or against the CFA deal. I simply pointed out that the boycott by some had more to do with Dan Cathy being personally against gay marriage. Many gays had long been boycotting CFA because he gives money to anti-gay groups.

It makes me think some business owners will do quite well if they put this law into practice at their establishment.

which is something everyone knows. Hell...the man makes no secret about it.

But that example has absolutely nothing to do with a company refusing service.

Well I'm the furthest thing from a bigot. But I went and supported a business that was being attacked because of their beliefs.

It's sad, but probably true.
