Strange way to drive up tithe payers.
Must be needing a remodel

But Church of the Highlands in particular comes across as almost cultish to me
I'm an Atheist but I volunteered at a major church because I wanted to help the community. It was kind of bizarre because I couldn't just blurt out that I didn't believe so I went through all of the hoops that they asked me to outside of tongues.
When you start getting in deep, you start to recognize some really weird things about the megachurches and their congregation. It gets extremely cult-like and gossipy. Eventually, a reverend I really liked ended up getting 'transferred' out and I just stopped going.
Even after ~10 years, they still go by my mom's house looking for me, wondering what I've been doing, asking about me.

their pastor Chris Hodges is a pandering Joel Olsteen type.
Isn't the Church of the Highlands Hodges family the one who sent their married son to gay conversion camp?

White church = wood construction
Red church = brick construction
Grey church = rock construction
Tan church = stone construction
Seems like sound advice.
On a side note I see why the former Bulls shaved his head if he had that much premature grey in his hair.

I’m an atheist.
It’s always seemed that “God” has a hard time breaking cultural barriers. Most people stick with the norms of their upbringing, including racial segregation in social settings in the Deep South.

Most of the churches I ever attended in the South were multiracial. It's the mainline denominations that are often split. Usually the wealthy crowd and black churches.

I've lived in south carolina my whole life, except for when I was in the Navy, and I've been to churches in the city's and the country and not one single church has been multiracial except for this one church in Columbia that has open gay policy and frankly its just a freak show.
I wonder if Heaven is segregated?

Once as a sophomore Jordan put up 62 on a Celtics team that was considered the GOAT. Still a playoff record. Afterwards Larry Bird said, "That's not Michael Jordan. That's God disguised as Michael Jordan."

How do you know?
God tells people to do shite all the time.
This is a very good question because even if you believe in the Christian God He told people to do some fricked up things. He told Abraham to kill his own son. Can you imagine John Doe in the year 2019 telling people that God told him to kill his son and that he had to do it? He would end up in a mental institution.
People will only believe God is talking to you - and probably not audibly under any circumstances - if He supposedly leads you in a direction that they agree with or understand.

That's probably true.
He should have left it at that. He lost any credibility when he made the overarching statement that he made.
