This weekend, and particularly on Monday, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you to them and thank you to their families.

Yep, don't thank a veteran, be grateful for those who gave it all. Enjoy the weekend though, it was given/protected by those that aren't around.

How did this holiday get turned into backyard pool parties with beer and burgers? I feel like the whole holiday has been repurposed into nothing but a three day weekend featuring warm weather. Sad.

Don't thank a veteran? Just because Memorial Day is a day set aside to honor our fallen heroes, doesn't mean we shouldn't thank a veteran. Many veterans lost close companions.

Who the hell downvotes showing appreciation for veterans? ???? I looked in the face of several today and could tell they were distraught. We should thank veterans for their sacrifice daily!
