Auburn people, how are you liking this...

What's your obsession with this project?

Tillman just likes city planning stuff.
He should be a city planner.

No bollards, just rapid deploy wedge barriers.

I probably like campus planning better because it is more conducive to landscape architecture, and building architectural styles that you don't see as much in cities.
Most city stuff is private development so the city planning is basically zoning decisions.

I'm not sure..that's why I was asking.
Mell Street was the street where the bollards stood out the most.
Instead of bollards, they should put up a low rise decorative brick or stone fence along those roads. Even this type of fencing that they used on Thatch Concourse is preferable. LINK
Auburn's got plenty of money.
I just want to make Auburn great again.

When Arkansas turned a former street into a pedestrian mall, we put up this at the former intersection.

Wow. I would have thought that gate had been there since the 1800s. Very prestigious looking.

When you say "we" who are you referring to?
Looks like a Pi Phi logo in the ironwork so did they pay for it?

A gateway at that location was on the 1929 campus master plan. It was partially funded by Pi Beta Phi sorority as a "gift", but the university planned and paid for most of it I believe.
Here are some sorority girls in a pic for scale:
The Greek Theatre at Arkansas is a gift from Chi Omega, and so it is officially the "Chi Omega Greek Theater". Several things on campus have been done that way.

Except that it isn't a pedestrian walkway

Uh, the brick walkway leading into campus from the gate is a pedestrian walkaway. Prior to the last project, it was a street about 3/4 the way to Old Main. Back in the 1980s it was a street that went all the way across the campus core.

I meant the Auburn Mell Street, not Arkansas's campus
