My new favorite past time is scouring the Facebook marketplace for used pickups for sale by owner in my area. My last pickup was a 2002 Chevy S10 with the 2.2L Inline 4 cyl engine

Traded it in for a Honda Accord 3 years ago, but i miss having a truck. Might look into an 90s model for local hauling or semi-daily driving.

What makes/models have you guys experienced or favor?

I had a 97 F150 for 2 years, good truck, barely had 16K miles when I sold it.
Bought a 2002 Silverado new, and other than normal maintenance and a set of rotors, ever really had any issues out of it either, had the old 5.3 engine. Pretty bulletproof. Got taken from me by a drunk driver.

Ended up replacing it with a 2016 F150. Been pleased so far. Went with the 5.0 V8, not a fan of the ecoboost engines.

If I were looking for a used one, I would start with a Tundra or Tacoma, then go from there.

The best truck I ever owned was a 1997 Nissan 5 speed 4cyl king cab. I loved that little truck. And then it was stolen right behind lakeside hospital in metairie.

I love old trucks. Seems like the 60s thru the 80s were the golden years for American truck engineering and production.

Anyone have any experience with the 91-96 F150?

I'm on my second Ram 1500 4-door. I've loved both of them, especially the price relative to comparable Chevys and Fords. The toolboxes over the wheel wells are a very nice feature I didn't pay attention to when buying but use all the time. The only problem I've had with the latest was a leaky AC after 4 years (and that was an expensive repair). Otherwise no problems.

My buddy's dad had a 95 with the inline 6 that is somewhere in the mid 200,000s now without many problems.

I had an '85 S10 with the old Isuzu 1.9 liter. You couldn't kill that engine. I loved that freaking truck.

I've had several trucks over the years and while none were dogs my current 1-st generation Tundra is my favorite of the bunch by a long shot.

Just bought mine off Facebook. 2011 f150 platinum. Guy was asking 20k paid 15.5k. Once it’s on Facebook odds are they want it gone ASAP so it’s easy to talk them down

I've got a red 94 F150 for my vehicle. Sold a BMW 335xi...

I probably put about 6-800 a year into her to keep her running right,

Paid 2150 for it four years ago. No car payment. Solid as a rock. Run premium in it. Gets horrible gas mileage. My insurance is $1 every six months in a bundled policy.

Just can't find a reason to not have the truck.

I'll say this: I've always been a Chevy guy, but the last few years it wasn't doing it for me anymore. Then this new body style hit and I'm gone for good.
