Now this just seems odd. It's a housing project, so US taxpayers are paying for or are at least helping to subsidize the rent of all the residents, and most of the gang members probably aren't even US citizens, yet they are forcing out residents that most likely are American citizens, and evidently it's been going on for more than 20 years. That is just crazy. You might expect US authorities to kick out the non citizens, but evidently that doesn't happen......

Ms-13 tried moving into New Orleans after Katrina.

Even though Nola doesn't have traditional gangs, the local boys ran those Salvadorans out of town.

This is more of blacks moving in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods
You can twist this anyway you want but from their point of view they are protecting their barrio from outsiders

These are housing projects in a city in the USA. As noted, the US taxpayers pay for or at least subsidize the rent for the residents and non US residents forcing out US residents in homes paid for by other US taxpayers is messed up. If these people do not want to live with our citizens in the houses that we provide, then they, the non citizens, do not have to live there. That isn't twisting the facts in any way whatsoever. Those are the facts.

Do you seriously think "Latino gang members" came here legally? Don't be naive.

In any event, I'm about certain that the black residents are US citizens, and so they have every right to live there.

Put your debate on changing the naturalization laws of the US
Something IMO that will never change
I have lived in LA and truthfully both groups have their issues but I would much rather live in a predominantly Latino neighborhood than a black neighborhood

"Put my debate on changing the... laws"?

That is a total spin on the point of the issue, which is non citizens forcing out US citizens in houses paid for by other US citizens. If you must spin the issue with "change the laws" then how about instead we enforce the current laws?

I don't think that the black vs Mexican crime against each other will ever stop in L.A.

It's been like that for decades. My old man who is Spanish/Mexixan/Native American, would tell me how they used to bus black kids into his school in the Pacoima/San Fernando area when he was growing up and the huge clashes that they had with each other. That was back in the 80's and it was still that way when I was in high school in Southern California in the 2000's. It's still that way now from what my younger brother tells me.

Both groups have too many "Alphas" who aren't going to back down from anyone. It's a shitty cycle that doesn't look like it will end in our lifetime.

Not true. Police in Houston were losing their shite because so many unidentified evacuees were shooting them.

I'm not talking about the police, I'm talking about the gangs that were already established in Houston

Oh well yeah.... That's because the city of Houston has more of a population than the entire New Orleans metro.

I think you miss the point that the GANG members DGAF who pays for the housing or who is legal or illegal. They obviously want it bad enough to do some messed up shite for it.
