Jetsons-Flintstones Universe timeline theories

When you're a kid you just assume that the Flintstones are the past and the Jetsons are the future. But with if they're BOTH in the future??

A lot of people have heard the theory that the Flintstones is actually further in the future than the Jetsons. That the Flintstones is a post apocalyptic future. Which would explain some of the technology the Flintstones have using obviously genetically modified animals.

BUT I say that they're both post apocalyptic societies existing at the SAME time!




After a nuclear war in our future, the rich were able to retreat to the sky to escape the radiation and desolate, bleak landscape. Their society and technology thrived. One of those families became known as the Jetsons.

The poor were left on the dead planet below to suffer. The radiation mutated and deformed their bodies in hideous ways


The electromagnetic technology that keeps the rich society in orbit above them also prevents any electrical technology from working on the planets surface. This is why they've had to resort to selective breeding and genetic mutations in animals to work for them as a substitute for many technologies.



In the crossover movie we are told that Elroy Jetson invents a time machine which instead of sending them to the future as intended malfunctions and sends them to the past. Although some would say that it actually did work and sent them to a post nuclear apocalypse future, hence the original theory.

But it's my opinion that the machine did not work at all, and an unseen Great Gazoo played a trick on the Jetsons and transported them to the planets surface. The Flintstones obviously don't have the technology to know about the advanced society orbiting them, but the Jetsons fall for the ruse because the general public of their society are kept in the dark about the existence of the surface dwellers to hide the atrocities of the past. The ruling elite say that surface is dead and lie by saying the radiation is so severe you'll instantly die in order to keep people from getting curious.
