It’s not just Iowa. Most of the top states have small populations. Pretty much every state with sizeable populations are going to have trashy parts and people so of course they’re going to be lower.

Nothing better than praising homogeneous areas of the country and proclaiming how incredible they are. But, we shouldn't be surprised, these are the same people that cast their longing eyes at Scandinavia. Yet, all of us living in those states with actual diversity of race and background......we're the bigots who are poor and need to find a way to be.......more like the all-white areas of the country? Weird. I'm sure that's not racist or anything.

The difference being that New Orleans has more problems than most other major cities. Geographically, politically, and economically speaking, New Orleans is a cesspool. That town has been hurt by both acts of God and human corruption.
There's a reason why Houston has a lot of New Orleans transplants.
