Track meets can get miserable and long for everyone . Especially on long and middle distance runners that have multiple events. And if it's cold it's worse times ten.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that since you're not "looking" it allows guys that normally wouldn't have gotten consideration a chance. If that makes sense.
