Your spaghetti map and the storms intensity look like the Labor Day 1935 Keys hurricane. That would be incredibly destructive in this era with Florida's immense population growth.

If the latest models stay true, it's going to hit SC pretty hard. I'm probably going to cancel our vacation to OBX and hunker down at home.

Any chance that slides over Alabama at all? Last legit hurricane that affected Birmingham I had a tree fall on the house as I was looking out the window at it.

Right now they're still predicting it to do a 90 degree turn mayb just south of Florida. Come up along the coast line maybe just over the Atlantic, and slam SC right up from the south. I'm in Savannah so it doesn't look great for us.

Winds now 185. Latest word is they expect winds to reach 290...that's sustained, y'all.

What in the actual frick?

You can't prepare for this bitch..you just have to get the hell out of her way.

As the crow flies, I'm about 60 miles from the boarder of the SC/ Ga coast. Yikes.

No... Its about to go over land its not gonna get much higher than 185. Last I heard the gusts were to 225 which is insane already. But 290 sustained is simply impossible unless you're on jupiter.

My phone changes words on me. I hate it! And I also did not type 290. It was 200. Guess I should start previewing before hitting submit.

I went to Pembroke for Matthew, it all depends on what this one does. As you know my place is high up so flooding isn't an issue, but 130+ winds would make me leave. Might go up to my Grandad's cabin in NC.

Yeah the wind is what I'm worried about. Hell, Matthew wasn't that intense with the wind and it still worried the shite out of me.

I'm sweating bullets watching this storm. I live in southern SC and people are already clearing out the shelves.

Dang guys, be safe. Get your gas and head inland. Praying it isn't as bad as it appears at this time.

In Fort Lauderdale, it's fricking crazy. I'm new to Florida, only 6 months but gas lines are already nuts. I was up in NYC when sandy hit. Can't imagine what the hell this is going to look like.
