I try to stick to discussions where I know everyone will remain calm and civil. Basically just abortion, gay marriage, and favorite bourbon.

We're at a point in America where no one can voice their opinions without being labeled. Tolerance is only a real thing if you agree with their views.
As such, sports is the best bet. Everyone hates everyone equally other than their own team.
