Nashville being the only exception I can think of.

I have spent more time than usual over there lately and I believe it is one of America's least-appreciated towns. Cool old-school art deco architecture downtown, hilly-ish green landscape. Good proximity to Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Lots of good neighborhoods, GREAT suburbs. Low crime, etc. Medical weed laws in Oklahoma are so lax that it is basically recreational at this point.

Why isn't everybody moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma? Tornadoes?

Well OP isn’t well-travelled. Can’t blame them though. Most Arkansas people are poor.

Haha. I have literally traveled the entire country frequently since I was 23 for work.

Have you ever been on Tulsa time, bro?

Jack White remembers the first time he stepped inside Cain’s Ballroom, a 1920s Tulsa dance hall where Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys once broadcast their weekly radio shows. “I basically almost fired my booking agent the moment I walked into that room,” White said recently. “Why do I not know about this place? I was really upset that nobody had ever told me about Tulsa.”

Well I never been to Heaven,
But I been to Oklahoma.
Well they tell me I was born there,
But I really don't remember.

Weed has always been a big enterprise in Oklahoma. McCurtain county was considered the largest grower of illegal weed in the US in the 80’s. Hell, I remember wearing my McCurtain County Homegrown shirt to class at LSU.

Low crime

Wat? Maybe compared to Little Rock and Baton Rouge, but those are some low bars to beat.

Hot summers, ice storms and cold winter, tornadoes and hail in the spring.

Lots of crime and meth. It is close to NWA though which makes it ok.

I spent 3 days in Tulsa and don’t even remember anything about it. How is it so special?

Tulsa has good demographics compared to a lot of Southern cities. Yes, everybody here can hear my dogwhistle.

Their downtown Arkansas River park is neat. The suburbs are pretty nice, and I agree that there are a lot of cool old buildings downtown. Oil money from the 1920s, mostly. It's like a smaller Dallas, when Dallas was nice (1980s). I get the comparisons. It seems pretty boring. Comparing it to Austin is a bit much.

I used to travel to Tulsa a lot, and loved it. I wasn't a huge fan of the terrain...but the food and people were great.

One of the few places where you can get tabbouleh as a side for virtually anything.
