A whole lot of people from this particular shooting on that night according to reports. Only one of them got killed though.

People judge others based on their social media presence, it's a thing that happens. Stop being naive and idealistic.

I judge people based off their social media profile. Similar to what employers do

Here's an interesting Tweet by a radio host in Bham. The kicker is that it was LIKED by the al.com Bham crime reporter. You know that if there's anyone with insider information it would be her.

From Carol Robinson of al.com this morning.

quote:

We can say with certainty Mr. Bradford brandished a gun during the seconds following the gunshots, which instantly heightened the sense of threat to approaching police officers responding to the chaotic scene. Body camera video and other available video was immediately turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as part of the investigation. Now, all evidence has been handed over to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) to lead the investigation. Release of any video will be done as ALEA deems appropriate during the investigation.

quote:

The gunfire erupted at 9:52 p.m. on the second floor of the mall outside Foot Action near J.C. Penney. when police say gunfire erupted during an altercation between as many as four males. The dispute possibly was over tennis shoes being released that night, but police have not confirmed that report.

When it was over, Bradford was dead, his 18-year-old friend was seriously wounded.

So, they think now that he WAS part of the altercation? He just wasn't the guy who fired his gun?

He still could have fired his gun, bit didn't hit anyone. No evidence of either yet.

That's the first I've seen anybody mention of the cop saying anything. All other accounts have essentially had the cop coming around the corner, seeing him with the gun, and shooting on sight.

Also interesting in your next part you choose not to quote Hoover's apology to Bradford's family. Don't seem to remember any apologies being offered in justified cases like Michael Brown....

I will say that after their initial blunder of naming the deceased as the shooter, Hoover and those handling this case have done a good job correcting themselves and handling it since then

We hope this helps keep the media and the public informed of what we know and are able to share without jeopardizing the investigation. We will also keep the public informed of any developments through our website and the social media pages belonging to the City and to the Police Department. Should significant developments occur prior to any given regular Monday update, we will provide that news as soon as we can.

Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are extended to the families of those affected by the traumatic events surrounding the officer-involved shooting last Thursday evening, November 22, 2018. We extend sympathy to the family of Emantic J. Bradford of Hueytown, who was shot and killed during Hoover police efforts to secure the scene in the seconds following the original altercation and shooting. The loss of human life is a tragedy under any circumstances.

But we get it though, you've already made up your mind. A young black man is dead and that's all you need to see to decide he deserved it.

Witness statements aren't all that reliable in these situations. I've seen supposed witnesses say things all over the place in this case. One said cop was in street clothes, one said the guy's gun was still holstered, one said he was shot in the back while fleeing and left to bleed out.

I'm not even sure body camera footage will clear things up. They'll just show a very chaotic scene with lots of screams and people running.

That's not what they said. Just because you're friends with somebody or in the same group doesn't make you culpable for their actions. That time your frat brother date raped a freshmen coed or assaulted a GDI did you get held responsible for his actions?

Choose better friends that won't put you in a situation to pull out a gun.

Oh okay, well in that case just go ahead and send home all the investigators and tell the judge not to even bother showing up. The infallible facebook judging skills of Tri City Tiger have already determined guilt bc no 21 yr old would ever post a questionable picture on social media unless they were a thug deserving death

I'm not saying he deserved to die, but pulling out a weapon in public puts you at higher risk of being killed. And judging from his FB profile I could definitely see this guy taking higher risks with his life.
