Help a brother out. Netflix help please.

So I am not a big television guy and outside of football I am much more likely to read a book or browse the internet. My daughter got me Netflix for Christmas and it looks like I have lots of options. My question is what have I missed out on not watching the tube in years? I am watching breaking bad on a suggestion from my brother but I need more. Any movies or series that you would recommend? Thanks and I appreciate any recommendations I get.

Stranger Things was the best Netflix series of '16.

Thanks guys. Stranger things sounds kind of interesting. Is it a mystery genre or what? Thanks.
I am obviously a huge sci-fi fan judging by my username.

It's just an overall good show that a lot of people liked.
Give it until the sheriff is introduced, episode 2 or 3 before you fully judge. He was my main reason for enjoying it.
Great throwback to 80s.
It's gov't conspiracy. Hits on MKUltra, which I liked.
A little bit Goonies, childishly serious.

I will give it a go. I am gonna finish breaking bad first. I am just starting season 3. Thanks again.

Narcos if you like drugs, violence, and women.

I like all those things but couldn't get into Narcos.
Might try again..
Just felt like it was a made-for-tv-movie version of some other great films in that genre.

Check out Black Mirror, many of the episodes deal with future technologies and scenarios.

I'm currently watching The Colony. It's an aliens-take-over-the-world sci-fi series. There are lots of good sci-fi movies and series on Netflix. Enjoy.

Once you like a series Netflix will suggest other shows/movies in that genre.

Never watched a single episode until we got Netflix. I heard many talk about the series while it was on, but never piqued my interest at the time. As I said, we got Netflix so I checked it out and got hooked. The show/series is named "Lost".

Lost, Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders. All great shows.

I'll echo the recommendations for Stranger Things. Quite enjoyable.
Also recommend "Glitch." Aussie TV series with 1 season on there (more to come this year). Different spin on the zombie genre.
Just finished "The OA." Extremely well acted, even if the story got a little wonky towards the end.
