Instead of worrying about straws the leaders of city needs to figure out crime issue. Apparently there were another report of shots fired. I swear the city is just tanking. It’s disgusting and disgraceful

I can’t say much these days. The town I live in is going downhill. Shootings have become common place. Vagrancy has run amok. They found a dead body in a friend’s backyard today in a decent part of town.

I’m looking for an escape hatch, but having family here makes it difficult to up and move.

Same thing for the anti-fur animal rights nuts. It's easy to spray paint a 75 year old lady's fur coat in Beverly Hills or on 5th Ave. You'd never see them doing that to a biker's leathers.

Then pay for them at checkout.

Might have just been firecrackers, because there was a news story but nothing was damaged and nobody was shot.

I'm not saying Fayetteville isn't getting more crime, but it's a city now. No more denying it. 90k plus people in the city-proper, and Springdale is probably 85k. I don't think our crime rate is up much, if at all, over 10 years ago.

My bitch with city council and mayor is that they are virtue-signaling dipshits, and so they obsess over the "fashionable" cause of the day. I've never heard so many frickers moan about "affordable housing" as in this place. It's cheap to live here, as long as you aren't a useless person, "making art" or playing in a band and working a minimum wage job. It's nonsensical to me.

Lioneld Jordan is an uneducated dipshit, and it's embarrassing that he is the mayor of this city. I can't stand to think what people from other places think of this place when they hear his dumb-arse speak.

Banning single-use plastics isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's easy to lump it in with all of the other stupid shite our city leaders rally around. I can't stand Jordan. But there are never any viable challengers. In this town, your choices are between Left, and Far Left when it comes to city elections.

People have said for years we are "turning into Austin". It isn't really hyperbole anymore. Homeless people, antifa dickbutts and intersectionality in city politics. HOoray.

On a lighter but related note, how about the embarrassments who run 104.9 the X

Bailie or the other guy, whichever one, his life mission is to make everyone know he smokes weed and listens to white boy reggae

He tortured NWA with Sublime music for several years. I have Sublimes greatest hits, fine, but I'm not joking if you drove around town four times in one day, you would hear Sublime four times, multiplied by every day multiplied by several years

Zero exaggeration

He's so cool. He smokes weed. And channels Long Beach reggae but has probably never been west of Tulsa

I don't know if he's moved on from that, but I try not to punch that station anymore

Oh yes. Those useless musicians and artists. That's why the Waltons are spending a shite ton of money trying to develop the music and arts scene in the area, funding multiple studies and positions to help cultivate it. Those "useless" people are a big factor in the quality of life equation.

Interesting study just released by NWA Council on contributor of music to the NWA economy here.

There is no shortage of cheap apartments for "starving artist" types in the area.

You want to live downtown walking distance to everything and make $25k/year? Call Alice, Tom or Steuart. Maybe the Waltons will subsidize your rent.

The white boy dreadlocks guys have crept up to Rogers/Bentonville

I bet they're not Rastefarians - just the hair style for projectile virtue signaling

Truth!

We can ban styrofoam, plastic straws, and plastic bags (yay thank you nanny government!), but god forbid you mention anything about the homeless bums leaving needles and shite everywhere in Fayetteville.
