employee is a miserable, lazy, incompetent bastard.

He said as he drove from O'Hare to Lansing, MI.

At 2 in the morning.

Without his luggage.

Should have flown Delta through DTW instead. For all the bad things I may say about DL, their baggage handlers in Detroit are the best in the business.

I take it back partially.

Sonja in Baggage claims was very nice to me as she assured me without a hint of self-awareness that because it was 9:50 that the baggage workers wouldn't want to get my bags because they got off in 10 minutes. But if waited until tomorrow, American would send my bags where ever in the world (literally) I wanted them.

Also, the nice lady on the phone baggage claim line was very nice and apologetic as she explained to me that it would be easier to have my luggage go to Detroit and then come back to Chicago and then I could pick it up there in Chicago. "It's just the way the system works."

That's any airline but I would have to put Delta at the top of the list. delta:"You were late to your gate." me: "Yeah, my ride (Delta) screwed up and caused that."

I have to admit, I have had better luck with Delta than anyone. I have heard horror stories but they have not given me one bit of trouble.

The solution is to tell them that your bag contains a nuclear bomb set to go off in 20 min but you can deactivate it with a fingerprint scanner. They'll get your bags to you pretty quick then

AA is turrible. A recent flight had us sitting on the ground for 30 minutes after landing because some lazy fricker wouldn't come move the causeway 10 feet.

Agree. The systems are there to make the customer experience okay, but the lazy employees generally suck.

I remember I was stuck on the ground in San Juan for a mechanical issue for 40 minutes, it wound up making us miss our connection in Miami.

We haul arse to the gate (on the opposite side of the concourse) and see our plane has already been pushed back. Of course there's nobody at the gate (despite the fact that there are systems in place to let them know we were on our delayed flight from San Juan and weren't on the Las Vegas flight.) I wander around looking for an employee to ask what to do, see one, ask, she doesn't stop and informs us she's too busy to help.

This happens two more times, I call AA looking for info, they say to go to the rebooking center on the opposite side of the concourse again.

Guy there was nice and AA put us up on a hotel and gives us some food vouchers (again, the systems were in place to help) but we were in limbo for about 30 minutes not knowing what to do and the only person that would help was the lady in Dallas on the phone.

Then, I found $5.

Our plane had some mechanical failure (which they announced to us as they made us deplane). Then 20 minutes later they cancelled and said it was the weather cuz then they don't have to pay for hotels. I laughed at the counter girl which I don't think my customer service experience any better.

Serious question, I'm about to fly to Dallas this weekend to visit some friends and family and we're playing. I had pretty much decided that it would just be easier to get a rental instead of deal with the hassle because I don't own a hard case. Any suggestions?

I've only flown American once. My flight got delayed and I ended up in Minneapolis overnight.

Still think they are better than Westjet or Air Canada. The flights aren't packed to the tits and everyone is generally very nice in comparison. Also in flight WiFi is pretty solid

Are you sure you weren't on Northwest?

Getting stuck in Minneapolis on AA seems weird.
