In the situation he was referring to, it was a plausible and all too possible outcome given the prior events.

Your example was that of a complete stranger who happened to be big. It's not even remotely similar.

You don't know one way or the other what their plans are,so you should protect your own life.
The robbers initiated the whole situation, everything that happens after that, is their own doing, similar to a person that drives drunk.

Or you call the cops and let them do their job. As the law pretty well lays out.

Your hypothetical doesn't fit the definition of imminent danger. Now had they tried to return and re-enter the house it's a different story.

No it wasn't. Robbers are going to come back, knowing he was armed and knew who they were? The robbers would assume he called the cops and would be armed and ready for this theoretical attack.

It's a completely unreasonable assumption.

You seem to have a pretty good grasp on how scum thinks. No wonder you are sympathetic to them...

So the old man gets bum rushed by the two perps.. He is knocked down.. His heart beat speeds up his adrenaline starts pumping.. He grabs the first weapon he can to defend himself and fires to shots in the direction of his attackers accidentally killing 1

I don't see what he did wrong

Except that's not what happened.

He followed them outside of his house into the alleyway. And that point, when they're fleeing and he's pursuing, by law they're no longer an imminent danger.

Is it seriously that hard for y'all to grasp that little tidbit?

So you call the same cops," to do their job" that have allowed a crime spree to go on unchecked?

Apparently that distinction doesn't extend to bad guys. They deserved to die because they stole stuff and ran. Too bad he didn't get them both.

A crime was committed. Why wouldn't I call the cops?

I'm surrounding by fricking morons apparently.

I realize that's the law. I'm sure the others do too. It's not that it's not graspable, it's that I just don't agree with it.

Why have police? Just give everyone a gun and let the free market dish out justice?

Ummm, because they obviously don't give a shite song as how this has become a regular occurrence.

Yeah. They totally don't give a shite. No criminal in the history of ever has committed multiple crimes before they were caught.

No criminal has ever committed another crime after they've been killed. That's irrefutable science.
