Driving is very dangerous.

We got ran off the road once by a driver who basically pulled around a couple of cars that were turning left as we were coming the other direction, and to avoid hitting him head on, I went into the ditch. Turned out it was an illegal who didn't speak English.

Second time, had a drunk driver crest a hill at night, I barely avoided a head on with him, but he swiped down the side of my truck, exploded both my tires off the rims, sent me left across the road and head on into a tree. Airbags deployed, and I passed out. When I came to I saw the smoke in the air, and thought the truck was on fire. My door wouldn't open, pushed my wife out the passenger door and crawled out behind her.

This is why I'm in threads calling for stronger penalties on distracted/careless/impaired driving. Almost been killed twice by idiots.

I hate elevators. I’ve gotten better but for years I’d find any excuse to not go up them, sometimes now as a 38 year old and even more growing up when with family going places.

Any time me and the wife go somewhere and we stay at a hotel, the only way I will take an elevator is if its windowed around to where I can see stuff then I’m not as panicky.

Parking garage elevators? HELL NO!!! Freight elevators in older buildings? HELL NO!

I work in an office building on a fourth floor. Mostly it’s the stairs plus it feels good to get some cardio in.

I’ve got a secret.

Go to the World the Living Seas at EPCOT. Take the elevator.

You go in the front door, it rattles and shakes. Bubbles go up the corner clear plastic tubes.

Back doors open. Get out………

You didn’t travel anywhere up or down. Safest elevators on the planet.

We were working at a construction site and were called to consult at Living Seas. Watched the elevator test runs with the walls removed. Had to laugh….

I knew about Haunted Mansion (WDW, Disneyland is actually a functional elevator) but I had no idea about this. That's incredible

I have damage to my amygdala, which causes me to have no fear. The doctors refer to the disease as "Badassitis" Maybe one day I can find a cure?

Trypanophobia (hypodermic needles). I tend to pass out getting a shot or blood drawn. Not sure why exactly. It's not the blood that bothers me. I would prefer they just cut me open with a pocket knife for a blood test

Archaic medical equipment and procedures.

Tomophobia is the fear of surgical procedures or medical intervention.

Somewhat similiar: I have a mild fear of bridges. Nothing serious, but many of them I would rather avoid.

However, when I lived in California I absolutely 100% refused to go over either of the Bay bridges, and I also 100% refused to get on any freeways that were stacked on top of each other. There are many ways to die, but me falling off a bridge or getting squished in an earthquake is not going be one of them if I can help it.

I went over the golden gate once(twice counting the return trip) in 8 years.

Luckily I lived in the South bay.

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. Elevators don't bother me... unless they are windowed.

I have taken elevators to the observation decks of the two tallest buildings in the world. They don’t bother me.

I don’t really have any phobias. There’s a difference between fear and irrational fear. I don’t panic or feel uncomfortable around snakes at the zoo or from a reasonable distance away or scared to touch one at a snake show or something, but at the same time I’m not picking up a rattlesnake. The former would be a phobia. The latter is just stupid.

You know, if you had just said, I have a phobia but I am embarrassed to admit it that would have worked much better. But yes, we all acknowledge you have no phobias and you are truly the one supreme being.

I'm scared of ladders. I'm okay once I get up a ladder and onto something else, or down a ladder and onto something else, but I'm terrified of ladders.

Back in they day you could always tear a Polaroid in half.

Pixels don't cooperate as much.
