if the friend is someone that is close and i dont want to cut ties with i couldn't do it.
if i dont value their friendship then they aren't my friend anymore and the girl would then be in the available dating pool by my standards

Not a close friend. If I'm willing to lose the friendship, I would, but if the person is a good friend, I'm not willing to lose the friendship.
ETA: It also matters how much I like said guy. If it's just a dinky date, no. If it's the ex of someone I don't know that well, they dated a while ago, and the guy and I have an instant connection, I would probably go out with him.

I have lived. I don't really care to rack up girls. I don't want to have sex with a ton of girls. I love my life and I wouldn't change it.
