Earlier, I mentioned the possibility of moving to Columbia for a job opportunity. Well, on Friday I found out that I matched to Mizzou so my wife and I are starting to look at houses. A lot of you said to live as close to Nifong blvd as possible. Why is that? There is a neighborhood close to the Aldi's that has some newer houses for sale. Is that a decent part of town?

The further south, the nicer the areas. As long as you stay south of I70, most areas are relatively nice and safe.

Didn't catch what you were coming for...but near Nifong has quite a few nice neighborhoods. Also a bit removed from campus with less students. Anywhere near Rock Bridge high school is pretty nice.

In CoMo, the 65203 zip code would be ideal. This is the Southwest portion of Columbia.

All of the shootings tend to happen in the 65202 area, which is in the Northeast.

I got a position at the university hospital with one of the residency programs and will spend the next 4 or 5+ years there.

1) Congratulations on becoming a doctor.

2) Your insistence on a new home and your obsession with neighborhoods gives you away as a Republican. Try Boonville. You'll fit in better there.

You better start checking your privilege now. Whatever privilege that might be.

Boonville is nice. I have lots of family there.

It's about 30 minutes to the hospital. His residency money will go a lot further there if he wants a new house.

Columbia is bluer than Hillary's twitchet. I'm just saying that he might be more comfortable in Boonville.

If he wants to live in Columbia, and since it's just he and his wife, I would suggest that he buy a smaller, older home in a cool neighborhood. To me, there is no point living in the suburbs of a college town. The suburbs are the same everywhere.

is a basic college town.

I'm not sure what Raleigh is trying to say, but Columbia is a great place to live with kids. I'm not quite sure why he is suggesting Boonville, just seems like a waste to have to drive everyday, especially considering alot of the Hospital stuff is near the University.

I think he's saying housing is a little more affordable in Booneville. But I'm with you, the less time I have to commute every day, the better off I am.

No, he just has some vendetta against the university ever since that beatdown in the 2008 Cotton Bowl. Dude needs some serious therapy.
