Ok, so do you or do you not believe that the hunter should be killed for what he's done? Should he lose the business he's built and his children's well-being be put in jeopardy? Should be be considered an outcast/menace to society like say, a sex offender?

Or maybe he should pay a big arse fine and lose his hunting priveledges in that country??

If you'd rather the first set of punishments then you need to have your fcking head examined and you're not worth even debating.

The point is I wish we could band together for things that matter instead of spewing venom over some dumbass lion 5000 miles away. Hunters aren't the lion's or any other animal's problem whether over there or certainly not over here.

This entire thread is a sociology experiment on how polarized this country has become on, well, just about everything.

I'm completely relaxed and having a glass of vino my friend. Turn your TV on and watch MSNBC and then FOX for about an hour. No one agrees on anything

Read my previous posts.

Personally, I would love to kick the shite out of his sorry arse, and fine him if I could, though it wouldn't be an exorbitant amount.

That'd be all.

I watch neither of these, and while I am pissed at how this guy did what he did, I don't let this kind of stuff get me out of sorts. There are many bad things that happen in this world that I have absolutely no control over and while those things piss me off I realize that I have no control over them and let it go. I suggest you do the same.

So you attribute 100% of the drop in lion population to legal hunting? I am sure you have facts to back this stance up...

While at least having guides with rifles present. No one is going to hunt a lion with bow and arrow without the security of a rifle handy, and a vehicle to climb into.

Tarzan kicked their arse regularly without a rifle or vehicle.

Look, we are talking about a fricking LION here. One of a species that kill about 250 people a year.

No, I'm not advocating the mass slaughter of lions, nor the illegal hunting of them. But big game hunts, at least at the moment, are not illegal. Now, if the guide deliberately lured a tame lion off the preserve, that was in bad taste. But the fact remains, the lion wasn't killed on the preserve and it remains to be determined whether the hunter knew the circumstances surrounding this particular animal.

Hypothetical situation:
1.) There is now a very limited supply of Cows. Tales of eating beef are almost legendary.
2.) The cows naturally replenish themselves, but slowly. They generally hold steady on their own.
3.) Once cows are gone, they are gone forever
4.) It has been deemed by both the scientific community and the general public that we should keep at least some cows around
5.) There are stiff penalties in place to protect the cows
6.) There are a small subsection of people who kill cows (even the protected ones) for personal gain (money, pride, whatever), even knowing the penalties. They don't even eat the meat.
7.) The amount of cows continue to decrease

In this situation, you alright with people killing cows? What should the penalty be? What if there were only 1000 left, or 10? Let the world lose steak forever?

Not me, pal. Save the beef.

murdered by abortion

Does not compute.

It's actually a good thing abortion is legal. This world would be even more fricked up if an additional 1.3 million (MILLION!!!) American babies were born each year.

Actually you could argue that there wouldn't be that many more babies born because women would be more careful.

Lions would likely be extinct in Africa if not for the game preserves which are maintained for Safaris and sport hunting.

I don't know the particulars of this Lion but most often the paid bunts are to cull an older male who isn't prime breeding age and is killing younger males or ask ally being a total a-hole in the animal kingdom.

Kinda agree with this. As a deer, duck, pheasant and hopefully someday, elk hunter, I know I pay actual money towards conservation efforts.

So, you're pretty sure that they would all be dependent on the system, therefore their murder is justified?
let me rephrase it so you can better understand. What is your position of the babies that are born and dependent on the system?

I am a hunter and fisherman for life. Grew up that way.. But there are some animals that should not be hunted.

And just because its legal, that does not make it "Right". Part of our responsibility as human beings is to make life decisions based on what is "Right". Not what is legal

Is it their fault? The babies are dependent on their parents, who may be dependent on 'the system'. So let's nip it in the bud and kill the babies.

How about PP putting their efforts into PREVENTING pregnancy rather than terminating it?

But don't conservatives like yourself want to cut the spending that helps the babies being born to women dependent on the system?
