Maybe this is the nest and we're all just joking around about staring, but a breastfeeding breast is not that attractive or sexy.

Which is why the girl in my story stood out. And I just happened to walk up to the table as she was uncovering. It's not like I hang out in the food court at the mall hoping for a glimpse of num-num.

I don't really care if they do it, IF they cover up. I have seen a few times someone just sit there with no cover at all, and that's weird as shite to me.

Breast feeding is amazing for the child, and it also helps the mother recover faster from pregnancy. It is very natural and makes for bonding between mother and child. I have no issue with a woman sitting quietly nursing with a bit of modesty. The militant milkers are just out there to make a point and get their 15 minutes of fame. They went looking for a reaction and they got it. I don't think most people even know when a woman is feeding unless she want them too. Just another example of media/social media look at me over a non issue.

Anyone who has an issue with it is an idiot. I will say it can be distracting to see a boob hanging out, so if the woman doesn't want to be starred at she should bring a covering. But no issue with it either way.

I agree with this.

So the event I saw was a lady at Target who had an issue with a guy who was uncomfortable and she yelled at him that she doesn't care about his discomfort. I could be paraphrasing here, but it was to that effect. So is she right, that making people uncomfortable doesn't matter, or shouldn't matter? I know the whole put your big girl panties on mantra, but getting to a bigger issue, this strikes me as similar to the students at Mizzou with their cries of not being able to focus because they don't feel comfortable. And who is the decider on comfort level anyway?

If she thinks it's ok to make people uncomfortable by breast feeding in public, then I guess she would be ok with me sitting at the table next to her and staring at her rack. Even if it makes her uncomfortable...fair is fair, right?

The ones who stand up in public and say a little too loudly "I have to nurse the baby" then flop a jug out like a slut on a pole are looking for a reaction. They send the stink eye all around daring someone to look. If someone does look or says something then they can tweet they were shamed for feeding. Moral outrage and political correctness have thoroughly curb stomped manners and humility.

This is true.

And although I'm sure it happens from time to time, I'm convinced 99% of the breast-feed-shaming stories are urban legends. My sister's baby cousin Tracy said when she was at the Captain D's....

Yep. This is one of those internet hot topics that almost never comes up in real life.

Very simple. Should be okay anywhere men taking shirts off is okay. Cover isnt expensive, if im eating dinner I dont want some random fat girl tit popping out in my field of vision darn it. Now..if hot..pop out everywhere, including church. God loves titties too

My gf's sister just had a baby and it seems like every time we are around she is feeding the baby, which is fine I don't have a problem with it. However it's just awkward b/c her boobs were DD before the baby and now they are bigger and it's kinda hard not to look.
