My neighbors' kid tlks to her parents like that. I can hear her screaming "I hate you (inserts dad's name). She doesn't call him dad, she calls him by his first name. The parents never correct her for her behavior. She says and does things that no little 7 year old girl should know or say. I put the blame directly on the parents. It has gotten to the point to where I will not let my daughter play with her anymore.

Sadly I see kids like this at work all the time. And 99% of the time they get that way because they get coddled like a motherfricker for years and then the parent tries to actually be a parent too late.
If I talked to my Mother like that I could hear her now. "I brought you into this world and I could take you out.". Probably proceeded by a smack across the mouth hard enough that I'd have to check if I had teeth left.

That too. Generally all Mom had to say was, "Do I need to get your Dad?" and that squashed things pretty quick. I never got it, but my brother got his arse beat by my Dad with a razor strap once. I don't think he sat down without a pillow for a few days.

The finger pointing, screaming "shut up!" "how does it feel?"--all were grave offenses.

The kid is narcissistic, I am not sure in that situation on TV what she could have done. If she drop him the authorities would have acted. Two mistakes, letting it get to that point, and then putting it on TV.

Punishment from dad is what I avoided at all costs, but occasionally I'd make mom mad enough for her to go get a switch out of the backyard. Oh my those things stung.
