Let me guess. One is a Bama fan and one is an Auburn fan.

So awesome.

I love this city and its dysfunction.

The council is such a joke. Johnathan Austin wants to be mayor so badly so he's going to milk this for all it's worth. Bell isn't some great leader but he's better than what we've had or could have.

It is truly amazing how much Birmingham has progressed recently despite its leadership. Just imagine what could be done with a competent city council.

The whole Uber debacle was almost comical at times.

Bell is terrible. Austin would be terrible.

Bring back Larry Langford!! When I was in middle school, he came to do a presentation trying to convince everyone to come to Visionland. Free tickets if we didn't have any discipline issues over the last month of the year. We didn't make it a week.

Also, the time he went on local Birmingham radio and called anyone and everyone who disagreed with him a turkey.

He might not be the man Birmingham wants, but he's the leader they need dammit!

His plan to bring the summer olympics to bham and his beluga whale comments were classic.. The turkey comment happened on the Finebaum shown. Paul let Jim from Tuscaloosa on the air with him. Jim used the phrase "you people" and Larry lost it and called him a turkey. Radio gold.

He also referred to former auburn coach gene chizik as chiznik.

I bet Paul wishes he could go back to those days. Really great radio.

I sat in on a meeting with Langford once. It was astounding how smooth an operator he was, yet so obviously corrupt.

Did you hear the councilwoman on the radio, I think last week. She said she had threats against her life if she didn't vote yes for Uber.

Saw a guy in Starbucks this week. He claimed to be a personal assistant to Mayor Bell. I swear this was my initial impression as to who he was:

Dude was straight pimpin.

Did you get a Chestnut Praline Frappuccino? I had one the other day and I swear it was gone in 2 minutes. So freaking good.

Finebaum is a clown and I rarely listen to him anymore, but I do miss those days before he was national and the show was Bham/State of AL centric. Pre-Saban Finebaum was great radio.

Friend of mines family owns a high end men's clothing store/tailor. When Langford was mayor they said he used to come in there and spend tens of thousands on suits and pay for it all with a city credit card

Not nearly as funny now that I pay taxes
