Why does Charleston get the nod over Savannah? They are sister cities.

I really like East shore of the Mobile Bay. I especially like Foley for some reason.

Dallas/Ft Worth and Atlanta are the only two I would pick from the places mentioned.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores if it had an actual job market.

Anywhere in South FL from West Palm to Coral Gables would be #1 choice IF South FL was actually the South.

How do you know? Have you ever been to Savannah?

Louisville is great town. It's close in size to Nashville, but Nashville has a better downtown scene. Most people I hang out with will drink it up at 4th Street Live where they've taken 2 city blocks filled with bars and restaurants that's closed to traffic at nights on the weekend. Or they'll go bar hopping on Bardstown. Lots of cool bars off this road like Molly Malones, Phoenix Hill Tavern, Flanagans, or O'Sheas. They've cleaned up the downtown area from when I was there. I don't know what you like to do but they have the YUM Center, Louisville Slugger Museum, Actors Theatre, Churchill Downs, Muhammad Ali Center, Louisville Zoo, Speed Art Museum, Waterfront Park. The best thing going IMO, is the Ky Derby. If you've never been I'd recommend going at least once in your life, even if you don't live there. The infield is amazing.

I currently live OTP of Atlanta, which I love, but you know how traffic is here. It takes me 90 minutes to get from one side to the other side. Louisville is so compact, you can get from one end of the county to the other side in 45 minutes. Plus there are parts of Atlanta I won't go even during the daylight hours where as I would feel fine walking anywhere in Louisville for the most part, even at night.

Of course, Bluegrass Bell was raised there and currently resides there so she might have soem different answers for you.

Not sure who said Louisville, but I couldn't disagree more. As a recent grad from South Carolina that lives and works here now, I would say stay away from here unless you'd like to be surrounded by people that think and act like they live in Chicago but consider themselves "southern".

Me too..I'd live there in a hearbeat..Beautiful location and away from the congestion of Mobile(but you can go over the bay to have some fun downtown in under 20 minutes)

Porter,

Louisville. Born in South Carolina, but raised for a majority of my life in Louisville and Lexington.

If it's worth anything, I feel pretty similar about Lexington.

To each his own. I can see the downside to Louisville and I haven't been around a ton of people from Chicago so maybe they do But I'd still rather live there than most places.

A big part of Mobile's problem in terms of downtown is the suburban sprawl. West Mobile to downtown is a pretty long drive. Mayor Dow tried to do some work on the matter, but it never came to fruition. Mobile has a ton of potential, but the spread out nature of the area makes it difficult.

It coming along. They just created an entertainment district, aka open container area. I plan to call Mobile / Fairhope home in the next 5 years.

Outside the Perimeter. I-285 forms a ring around the city.
