Best chain fried chicken? Popeye's is overrated

Sitting here wondering what to do about lunch. I am in small-town Wisconsin today, so Popeye's is a non-starter, but it has lost its luster with me anyway.
To be fair, the last couple of times I had Popeye's was when I lived in Singapore, and they had neither biscuits nor beans & rice. Maybe I need to get that tooth back in shape by hitting them here in the States, but it ain't happening within several hundred miles of here.
Got me to thinking: What is the best chain restaurant fried chicken? Ashamed as I am to admit it, KFC won me over in Singapore. They were either really good there, or I was desperate. (KFC in China sucks. Sandwiches only, and boneless chicken. That's odd enough in China by itself, where chicken is usually just a whole bird chopped up with a cleaver, and you get to pick around bone fragments.)
So, what say you OTters? What is your "go to" chicken place? KFC, Bojangles, Popeye's,...
As a bonus, this was a sign at one of the KFC's near my place in Singapore. I always thought that, being in Asia, this was really bad phrasing.

I dont know if y'all have Shake Shack but their fried chicken is pretty decent.
The absolute best fried chicken I've ever had is in a little town called Okarche OK, place called Eischens.

Or are you just talking about the chicken sandwich?
I wouldn't put that on the same level as a Bojangles, KFC, popeyes etc.
IMO though, best fast food burger. Better than Inn N Out and 5 guys.
Never had Whattaburger.

I also don't think Chick Fil A is fried chicken.
CFA is the best fast food chain IMO, but wouldn't say it's fried chicken like the other places listed.

The Church's in Cola was in a bad area.
I find the worse the area the better the fried chicken.
We never went there, just sent pledges to get it.

Where in Wisconsin? Around Duluth? I was in Rice Lake all day. Fried chicken is going to be hard to come by, you don’t go in that area looking for chicken but if you have to there’s a KFC in RL and Bruce used to have the Chicken Coop that was pretty good but it closed.

Curious as to what part of Wisconsin you’re visiting as well. Fried chicken will be very hard to come by outside of the gas station variety.

I will second that. I lived up by the Wisconsin border for a while and you just can't find good fried chicken in that state unless you really look for it.
