Archibald's is my favorite as well- I haven't had a lot outside of Alabama, but I have tried Rendezvous and thought it was overrated. Maybe someone can give me some better Memphis suggestions

Rendezvous has great ribs and mediocre everything else.
I like Central BBQ in Memphis and The Joint in New Orleans for best all around BBQ.

BBQ shop and Central BBQ are number 1.
And Rendezvous, Corky's, and Top's are still 1000x better than any other cities BBQ.

There's a couple of joints around B'Ham that are fantastic. Also, I can't remember if it's outside of Merdian or Hattisburg, but there's a gas station called Rosa's (SP?) that is a straight up smoke house. Awesome stuff.
