WWL hired a native as News Director in 2023.

WWL Names Nicole Waivers
No Limit has some classic tracks. Cash Money had much more fire. Even earlier ones like Chopper City the original--All On U.

If we're talking quality of song--not popularity--Big Boy put out enough quality to compete with No Limit. But BB was certainly not as recognized.

New Orleans 90's rap was both awful and great. G-Slimm, Partners N Crime, Fiend, Mystikal, Black Menace on Big Boy, UNLV, Mannie Fresh, Big Tymers, and BG on Cash Money, Fila Phil, Souljah Slim, Ricky B, Dirty Red, DJ Jubilee I'm blanking on so many more.

They were all very angry. Except Jubilee and Mannie, Mannie Fresh was always just a cool arse dude.

BG - All On U

PNC - We Don't Love Them Hoes

Ruby Bridges is younger than Trump, this shite was not that long ago. This board is insane.

Oregon Trail gen here born & raised in NO... sure seems like hardly anyone knew the name Ruby Bridges until around the teens. No one I know ever discussed her by name, in school or socially, I learned it in media/internet. A friend (also a native) told me in 2016/2017 that he met Ruby and had no idea who she was.

Not a personal knock against her, but it supports at least the OP's claim that the media manipulates history.

As to slavery... why is it always blamed on honkies??? Africans sold Africans. And it wasn't just white slave owners.
quote:

Louisiana, as we have seen, was its own bizarre world of color, class, caste and slavery. By 1830, in Louisiana, several black people there owned a large number of slaves, including the following: In Pointe Coupee Parish alone, Sophie Delhonde owned 38 slaves; Lefroix Decuire owned 59 slaves; Antoine Decuire owned 70 slaves; Leandre Severin owned 60 slaves; and Victor Duperon owned 10. In St. John the Baptist Parish, Victoire Deslondes owned 52 slaves; in Plaquemine Brule, Martin Donatto owned 75 slaves; in Bayou Teche, Jean B. Muillion owned 52 slaves; Martin Lenormand in St. Martin Parish owned 44 slaves; Verret Polen in West Baton Rouge Parish owned 69 slaves; Francis Jerod in Washita Parish owned 33 slaves; and Cecee McCarty in the Upper Suburbs of New Orleans owned 32 slaves. Incredibly, the 13 members of the Metoyer family in Natchitoches Parish — including Nicolas Augustin Metoyer, pictured — collectively owned 215 slaves.

Did Black People Own Slaves?
I work in manufacturing across different markets with factories in many foreign countries.

Not a single manufacturer I know is absorbing the tariffs, they are added to price lists and passed along to distribution companies who pass it to retailers and the consumers pay it.

Not arguing impacts & ripple effects, but that is what is going on in most cases.

All Don has to do is abolish taxes and it rights itself. Until then, we are paying tariffs and taxes.

It is sad. Chris is a gifted writer who put out poignant and moving pieces. But it did not happen to him. He made every choice that got him where he is.

Addiction and the depression that often causes it are sad but until you accept the idea it is your decision at the base to get better all the counseling, support and assistance in the world will not do a damn thing. He kept getting hired again and again from the TP to Gambit to Fox8 to Rouses because folks loved him and he squandered every chance.

Chris had a lot of folks spend a lot of time and money trying to help him and he kept making the wrong choices.

Again, tragic, but it did not "happen" to him. I do not post this to slam Chris. I want him to be better. But I hate seeing someone say this happened to him.

By the way, I was closer to this for a while as I knew Kelly since childhood.

You nailed it.

It was so strange, the articles for the first year were great, but it seemed like he had Sliver By The River Guilt. And his downfall was self-inflicted.

Wish him well. He was skilled.

I lift, stretch a lot, and do quite a bit of cardio as well. Also maintaining a healthy weight alone is key.

I'm 43 and feel youthful since starting daily cardio 5 years ago. Took a few months to get through body tissue rebuild from being a lazy piece of shite for two decades--aches and little injuries that I thought were age that were just stagnation. I built this up mostly with walking and most people can and should do that for themselves.

Run 2-3 days a week, 2-4 miles per run; the days I don't run, I walk 2-6 miles.

Lift weights 2-3/week.

Yoga 3/month maybe, stretching weekly.

Eat food that is food as much as possible, as little from plastic bags/containers as possible.

All that stuff allows me to be as active as my kids want me to be.
When a friend with older kids pointed out we really only get 18 summers with each child, we started making Blurb books at the end of summer, compiling pictures from what we did that summer. Whether just us, them at camps, activities with friends, family, travel. Mother's Day to Labor Day. Print one for each child. When they start writing, ask them to contribute, right about an experience and add it in.

The summer books are two fold in that it keeps you cognizant to make the most out of each summer (don't over do the cameras!) and the memories are your family's, not social media's. frick the likes, keep it in the family. Have fun and be creative, we do a page at the end with all the silly selfies they'd take and one with pics of whatever we catch the dog doing.

Parents are lazy and out of shape, be in shape. Teach your kids how to be active, don't ever say no to a walk or run or bike ride. If you can't physically keep up, get your arse exercising regularly.

It's so "cool" (especially for moms) to bitch about having to chauffeur your offspring around to activities you signed them up for, but older friends say one thing that gets missed in a few short years is the rushing around from activity to activity. That's the good stuff not the bad stuff. Imagine being a kid again, think what would you want to do for fun and adventure, and do it with them.

I know Boomer parents that treated their kids like obstacles, in the way of hunting, fishing, partying, or work BS. Family is the biggest ROI in life, it's the fullest experience.

I think they put MSU on the list and someone likely said oh hell nah.

MSU is the biggest cuck university in the SEC, they have the Ulysess Grant library on campus. Said they did it because Mississippi propelled his career.. Meaning Grant burned and wrecked Jackson and conducted a siege on Vicksburg for weeks, and the MSU folks were such pussies they said, yeah let’s have a library of that guy on campus!
Not sure about that, but last week this made news:

The Biden administration has introduced a new proposed five-year plan for offshore oil and gas leasing, and it will not include any sales in 2024 and will feature just three in the final four years.

The media saw a click/ratings opportunity when people collectively said what the frick about her globetrotting.

No idea if they like her, but they obey the queen. Seemed the reporters were opposed to her during the first campaign. Bent the knee after. Except Channel 6. Gotta give WDSU credit for refusing to be bullied 24/7/365.

When people had babies the last two years, Ochsner wouldn’t let the siblings in to meet the new baby if they were 12 or under.

They also enforce masks. Still. How is anyone supposed to take Ochsner seriously when they’re pushing the mask lie?

Further, I’ve had doctors flat out recommend not testing for Covid when they thought a child positive. So the hospital that requires a mask to get in doesn’t even care if anybody has it, and has no interest in treating it.

Good riddance.
Instead of FJB chant, should do “Anybody But Teedy” clap clap clapclapclap

But Lowe is facing a rap sheet back in the Louisiana. Records show the 26-year-old was arrested last year after a shooting in New Iberia, LA on solicitation and battery charges, and allegedly tried to escape during transport.

He is also wanted on a bench warrant in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. In the first case, he is on unsupervised probation and in the second case, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office told us they don't have jurisdiction to serve the bench warrant in Hawaii.
I gave away two tickets to friends for 2019 aTm because I couldn’t sell them.

Also going back many years, the issue was fans pouring out of TS in the 3rd & 4th quarters, long before the game ended.

The difference is fans came in but didn’t stay long pre 2020 restriction bullshite.

Those same two alumni friends stopped even watching in 2020 after the crap last year about O not marching. They said it’s been fun but we can’t support.

In 2021 I’m not going because of the mandate.

I fully agree LSU has ruined the fan experience going back to piped in music in 2008. Lots of contributing factors to the attendance issue, all of which have been decisions by LSU except the absurd number of TV timeouts. But this 2021 empty seat issue too is self inflicted & LSU is accelerating the attendance decline with the vaccine mandate.
